Might not be such a big issue for pc gamers. In my case I always deselect the target on turn around mechanics by habit so it doesn't really affect ne.

Unless there are multiple targets, controller players shouldn't find too much of an issue here either, especially at melee range. It will necessitate using Focus Target more often, or playing with distance more. However, overall this change will be a net positive once the players adjust to it.
That said, expect massive complaints within the first six months.
This doesnt affect caster nor MCH or BRD because they cant auto attack when have the stance on. This will only affect melee Tanks, Ninja, Monk and Dragoon.
Same here, I don't know why I do that, but automatically hit esc every time I have to turn away due to mechanics. At least I don't feel alone anymore, thought I am the only weird person here lol.
Gaze attacks affect everyone.
When looking at the face target change along with the auto attack change, the combined effect is removing (the requirement for melee DDs and tanks to face enemies for offense) and adding (the requirement for everyone to do extra work for defense), which really sounds like mages and ranged DDs are getting saddled with an extra burden so that the close quarters fighters can have easymode on.

Offensive magics should work the same as healing magics: no matter where the target is when you finished casting, the magic will land on that target.
And I don't like how they adjust things just because the console versions couldn't do it.
This is not like healing magic works. Healing magic has no restricted angle but requires a line of sight, so you can heal people without facing them even if they stand in your back.
But you are right, offensiv magics should only require their restricted angle for the start of the cast or less then 50% casttime.
Btw, you are all talking about how it affects DPS, but did you think about tanks and how they are affected by this change to facetarget.
And gaze attacks are as easy to avoid as ever...mechanics who require the char to do nothing, will be harder to avoid cause turning away won't cancel AA, so sheathing the weapon or untargeting will be the only ways to cancel your AA.
What do you mean?
I know that time bomb is not about "gaze" but "action". so if you face away there and stand still, there won't be any action coming out from you to trigger the bomb. But with the new auto attack even though you face away, your auto attack won't stop anymore, resulting in the detonation of the bomb. So you have to sheath your weapon to do this, or run out of the range of auto attack and stand still to avoid death.

Its not purely for pvp and dont see any problem in pve with these changes. Its not intended to show your front to your enemy while running away its a bug dunno why ppl complain about the fixI love when PVP changes affect PVE. It's my favorite.
Anyway, everyone plays a little different, and this change looks like it will affect me at least a little. Going to check out the keybind section because I evidently missed a keybind that will turn you away from a mob.
Yeah Gaze affects everyone but changes come with auto attack, so if you are not doing auto attacks you do not face the enemy. Obviously Caster using offensive spells does face enemies but that is right now in the game. Healing spells are the exception.Gaze attacks affect everyone.
