Locking Emote behind Potentially $100 Statue

So many responses that are painting me as a whiney brat failed to read my entire post. |D I'm getting the statue because I'm a collector of things both in-game and out of game. The statue being Odin is cool because I'm a big Norse Mythology buff (despite the Final Fantasy XIV iteration not being based off the actual mythology views of Odin and Sleipnir) and it'll go well alongside the Midgardsormr statue I poses.

Money isn't an issue for some collectors, but for those who have other priorities; such as school, yeah it's a big deal.

And before anyone tells me to stop whining about the price; I'm not - I shelled out the 100 something bucks for the Collectors editions of Heavensward. :P I swear people only look at the title of the thread and fail to read the body of it.

They will, hence the $$$. An emote is something that will draw even more people to buy the statue, hence why it is made an exclusive extra, it is business 101. I believe Lexia was more indicating that players complaining about the price shouldn't be focusing on the emote, as the emote is essentially free (with the purchase of a $130 statue)

I'm being hyperbolic, but an emote is a luxury not a need, if someone can't afford it then they don't get it. Should I complain to get a cheaper sub because I can't afford it and want a veteran reward?

It might be made out of resin. If that's the case it would explain the price. As someone who collects ball jointed dolls I know how difficult and finicky that material is to work with. The Japanese also seems very fond of exclusive and limited items (like in my and the figurine hobby) and they always cost a hella lot of money.

It's nothing I'm interested in, since I like things I can customize or interact with, but if you (general you) are a person who loves collecting things I understand if you want to buy it.

Sweet Ghandi's tits, that statue is gorgeous, tempted to pre-order it right now, the emote is neat and all, but damn son that statue.

Comes out late December, I will be gone during late December until after New Years...might address it to my next-door neighbor to hold onto it if that is indeed the case.

If it costs $100, it costs $100. It's up to you if you decide on purchasing it or not, and whether you are purchasing it for the emote or not.

If someone can't afford it, then that's unfortunate, but that's how things work. If you see the value in the emote, then by all means, purchase it. If you don't, don't. My earlier comment also rings truth, since I've basically reiterated it.

I would pay 100 euro for a Aymeric statue, but for Odin... no please. To bad they dont sell those emotes without the statue.
