Locking Emote behind Potentially $100 Statue

So I saw the Odin Statue comes with the Zantetsuken in game emote if I'm not mistaken? I'm still likely going to get it because I have literally every in game item tied in with an IRL item that has been released so far. But.. the Statue/Emote is a bit pushing it.

I mean yeah, the statue looks amazing and the emote is just a bonus. But I know some people who just want the in game items for collectors sake and that potentially $100 price tag is going to kill them. That and the fact that - it's custom with every release of an IRL item coming with a code for an in game item - only the first prints will come with the code and the codes themselves have expiration dates.

Are you going to surprise us and do something differently with this SE? Will all statues come with a code that never expires?

So many responses that are painting me as a whiney brat failed to read my entire post. |D I'm getting the statue because I'm a collector of things both in-game and out of game. The statue being Odin is cool because I'm a big Norse Mythology buff (despite the Final Fantasy XIV iteration not being based off the actual mythology views of Odin and Sleipnir) and it'll go well alongside the Midgardsormr statue I poses.

Money isn't an issue for some collectors, but for those who have other priorities; such as school, yeah it's a big deal.

And before anyone tells me to stop whining about the price; I'm not - I shelled out the 100 something bucks for the Collectors editions of Heavensward. :P I swear people only look at the title of the thread and fail to read the body of it.

It's optional and they just announced when preorders start so if you want one you can get in on it.

I'd buy it since I'm a collector kinda. But that statue is waaaay too small to be 130 bucks. Hope thats not the only way to get the Zantetsuken Emote. ;_; I'm a big Odin fan.

Well, I doubt they will ever offer another way to get that emote, none of the other bonus ig items that came with merchandise has ever been offered in other ways (like the Wind Up Dalamud and Bahamut). It's whole purpose is to help sell the real-life item after all.

I will be getting it but I do think it is a bit cruel to unlock something like an emote behind such a high end item that is clearly made for a niche group while emotes are enjoyed by a far wider group.

They did but as I was on mobile at the time I didnt get the opportunity to take screen shots this time around of the slides. Hoping they post all the slides and have the full live letter available in a reasonable timeframe (as the slides pertaining to fanfest I missed due to driving home at the time and no cell phones allowed while driving where I live)
