I can't help but notice she looks like a Duskwight Elezen and her minions/egis are also Duskwights with glowing hair... Is it possible her 'tribe' may actually be the ancient ancestors of the modern Elezen?

1 of the adds looks elezen to me, while the other one to the far left seems to be a Roegadyn. The both skin color is similar to Sophia's dark-purplish skin tone. Maybe they're tempered soldiers that she summoned?

Good point, I didn't notice the roe looking fellow at the back. Sophia herself definitely looks elezen though, and her original depiction in FFVI doesn't show her ears so the choice of pointed elezen ears was made specifically for her here in FFXIV. I imagine they chose that appearance for a reason. I hope we find out where she came from.

Sudden thought: maybe Sophia is the result of the Meracydians trying to summon Hydaelin...
