Overgearing content has become a serious issue.

As stated it's become a huge issue which is destroying the game.
Why you may ask.Well it's haveing negative effects on new players especially. They aren't actually learning a lot of mechanics in dungeons, trials raids.
Because why should they right? They can do all the level 50 trials unsynced so they can get free carries with people in level 60 gear.
And look at how easy the crystal tower dungeons are now?The way the game syncs ilvl it means you have a full 24 man raid with maximum stats from lvl 50.It allows people to skip mechanics and ignore adds.

The ilvl syncing system needs a complete overhaul. It just makes everyone overpowered

It doesn't need a complete overhaul, just set the ilvl sync to i90, down from i130 (I think). It's high enough to where you'll still get through it with some speed, but not so much that it becomes a total cake walk.

I like being over powered in content that so old i cringe when i have to do it again. In fact i think you should be allowed to be over powered in other places as well like in the HW stuff.
I dont like getting new skills at level cap and losing it on every single piece of content that isnt level 60. That is annoying. To each his own though.

After the 3,248th time running through CT I am incredibly thankful for the ease of which it is done now. And Void Ark is even more monotonous. can't wait for that to be on the rotation too /sarcasm

A stricter ilvl wouldn't be so bad, if things are not on a weekly/daily list of chores.

I would rather see them up the lvl of the content and keep it more relevant rather than them cap us and make us run it for an oil just so new players can still get it done.

Good luck getting people to run these things if they weren't steamroll easy. Even with how overgeared we are for these, people fail horribly at the mechanics that they can't skip. The only reason why a wipe doesn't occur is because we outgear it and can easily recover. If these runs ended in wipe after wipe, people would no longer queue for them and those who actually needed it would be sol.

This is by design. Squenix wants to usher new or casual players to the latest content; it's the same reason why last season's raid gets toned down. If players wish to play content in a time capsule, do this:

Besides, there is no problem skipping mechanics or ignoring adds. Part of mastering an encounter is learning what the mechanics and adds actually do. You'd be surprised just how harmless a lot of it is.

The last boss of Fractal Continuum, for example, spawns those crawling adds that leave a glowing square in their wake. The boss is going to fill a row and column anyway, so there's no point killing an add that's in the same row as the boss.

Here's a more recent example: Ziggy from Antitower. The stardust AoE is nonlethal; each one deals about 3500 damage. You could soak 3 out of the 4 of them and walk away happy.

Skipping and speeding is part of the FFXIV experience. We don't need to pamper new players and delude them into thinking they have to do every single mechanic in DF.

SE should make a "Low iLvl Roulette" or something. Get the same dungeons as EX Roulette, but be synced down to the minimal ilvl (and get more tome rewards). I don't think anyone I know playing this game has ever used Minimum ilvl at all.

I don't think that's the answer, but I think there needs to be a bigger incentive for min ilvl. It was a start with the music sheets, but more can be done
