I like open dungeons more so than instanced dungeons. I understand the need for instanced dungeons but would not like to see the disappearance of open dungeons. I feel open dungeons are another way for the community come together, and meet new ppl that are at the same point in the game as them. they really do create friends and on the flip side allow player to compete for claim as a sport. I know not all ppl feel the same as I, but there are just as many ppl who do.

Whats the point of even making an MMO (an expansive, massively multiplayer game) if you're just going to partition it off into non-massive and non-expansive instances. The dungeon finder mechanic on top of this just makes the entire game an entrance lobby instead of an MMO.

They need to change the name from MMO if they intend to do this.

You don't call Vindictus or Dragon Nest an MMO, because it's just instances and an entrance lobby, which is exactly what SE seem intent upon doing (although to a slightly lesser extent I guess).

The reason Blade and Soul looks completely stupid to me is precisely because it follows the zone-to-instance mentality. That game is so heavily instanced and it almost overshadows all the headway Blade and Soul made in terms of combat. What with both FFXIV and Blade and Soul being on PS3, I wonder which one you will pick; FFXIV with boring combat or Blade and Soul?

If FFXIV just becomes a carbon copy of the Blade&Soul type of MMO without the fun combat, then what's the point of even playing it? The graphics/lore? I couldnt justify playing for just the graphics/lore.

It definitely sounds like they are moving toward a WoW or Rift cloned MMO. Which I strenouusly object to.

If they implement grouping and partying like Rift (maybe Wow, never played it) where people pick a role they want to play and queue up for dungeons, then that will be the death of FFXIV.

If they change the loot system to be like WoW where its need or greed based on your current class, that will kill this game too.

Yep, need greed thing is stupid. Just make it where it either goes into a single drop list where everyone can /random and/or have the leader distribute it out. My take on it http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...You-rolled-__.

And cross server dungeon finder at that? yea the community will be just like WoWs "dead" what makes it worse this game wont have 10 million ppl ............
Hey guys lets log onto FFXIV and stand in one spot in the city and que for everythign we need to do we dont need to go anywhere but the city..... Good Job Yoshi your pretty game your unique zones you want? there not gonna mean shit once you implement a dungeon finder cross server. niether will those grand companies you speak of. cause once ppl find out its faster and easier to que for everything yea GAME OVER. unless your gonna do cross server grand companies? LMAO I was so optamistic about this game till I read cross server dungeon finder.

So what about the people that dont wanna run dungeons all day? what about the people that love the competition of hunting NM, HNM's world bosses? what about the people who love going out with a group of friends to explore the world and kill mobs?
If I wanted to do that I'd stick with WoW I mean why go to a game with same concept when theres a game already out that is the best at it?

What if you could only do it once per X days/hours?

AND the dungeons only served a unique purpose and not just EXp gaining.

Same goes with the dark-hold instance. People got all the stuff in matter of one day for some people. That doesn't add depth to the game, it shortens the life of it.
Thats how they should do it, make all instances be able to use a couple times a week. Also make open dugeons(as you said) have a unique purpose

Glad to see the Community finally rallying around this issue.

I like instances on occasion, but I'd much rather have a world to explore than a queue to wait in..
