Well I'd also like to see White Mage get no healing or MND penalty while in Cleric Stance so maybe I'm just a dirty casual (even though I don't play WHM I just think they should probably benefit more from Cleric Stance than scholar does).
We've already got too many skills to comfortably use on all control devices.
And controllers!
They currently only have access to 32 skills without having to switch chotbars.
Any more requires switching to another chotbar to access them.
I've already had to do that with less used skills, like stances and summons just to have room to keep all the need to have handy skills available easily.

Sorry but when I saw the interview the "going back to the basic" wasn't easier rotation
What i understand was having a revamp more centred around the job's core and lore
Because it's like saying that enochian will become à stance and so and so
Jobs shouldn't get easier
But more challenging
Forcing player to adapt during fight !
3.0 gameplay battle job design was pretty terrible imho. You can make things more complex and higher skill-cap, but you still have to make it fun to play. I would not mind a complete carte blanche and redesign of every job from the ground up in 4.0.
They made the most popular DD job in 2.0, Bard, into the least popular job in 3.0. So many constant complaints about unfun gameplay design. Many friends that used to love Bard dislike the new gameplay.
Fried popoto enthusiast.
I love all of this. This is really cool.This isn't so much a balance thing, but melee class combos (WAR PLD DRK DRG NIN) could be trimmed down quite a bit by making the buttons smart. For example, right now you need 6 buttons for paladin's three combos, but that could realistically be accomplished by two buttons.
Call them (1) Fast Blade and (2) Heavy Blade. Using Fast Blade changes both skills into the next part of a combo tree. So your new combos would become
(1) Fast Blade -> (1) Savage Blade -> (1) Rage of Halone
(1) Fast Blade -> (1) Savage Blade -> (2) Royal Authority
(1) Fast Blade -> (2) Riot Blade -> (1) Goring Blade
(1) Fast Blade -> (2) Riot Blade -> (2) New combo ender or nothing
This system should also, obviously, be applied to binary stances like Sword Oath/Shield Oath, Defiance/Deliverance, and Ninja Poisons. If your Sword Oath hotkey is F, then while you're in Sword Oath pressing F activates Shield Oath. If you're in Shield Oath, pressing F activates Sword Oath. I'd also probably also just give Monk full time Fists of the Wind speed and just have them toggle between Fire/Earth (maybe not even that, kinda boring). Of course, Warrior wrath/abandon mirror actions should be condensed down into single buttons as well.
It does remove a small level of control but I think that's okay.
As far as actual balance stuff goes, they should move paladin and dark knight stances off of GCD and balance from there. It would just make them flow a lot better. They should also take a good look at some of the weird situational utility/PVP-ish skills and just make them good skills instead (Cover, One Ilm Punch, all forms of Sleep, etc).
There is really no problem for keyboard/mouse users due modifiers and keybinds etc. Then again a mouse with atleast 2 mouse buttons arent really expensive and currently pretty standard.
