A few small notes. First off, a lot of recipes use a large variety of materials. So, don't think you'll NEVER use wood for blacksmithing (It's used for the handles of weapons and such), or leather for weaving... although, fishing is pretty much just for culinarian and alchemist.

Another thing about disciplines of land is that if you're looking to dye anything, which enhances stats and specializes it for certain disciplines, you'll likely need all three types. Each dye can only be gotten by either harvesting, quarrying, or spearfishing, and only in a specific region. So, spearfishing in Thanalan gives a different dye than spearfishing in La Noscea, which gives a different dye than quarrying in La Noscea. Make sense?

Another thing of note is that the Lodestone, FFXIV's official website, actually has most information available to you. All the revamped recipes (Which you should be using, as the recipes are generally easier to use, and for the most part make better equipment) are up on the lodestone (Go down to the Synthesis tab, and click "all recipes", then search). You do have to look at the market wards to get the stats of the equipment, however. Or just look online. The lodestone also has plenty of information on what NPCs sell what, and what you can expect to get doing DoL at a given camp. Head to the "Patch Notes" section of this forum, and go to the thread "Changes Planned for 1.19". Down at the bottom of the first page is all the discipline of land info, it really comes in handy. Well, it doesn't have fishing, unfortunately.

Also, on a side note, most disciplines of land were adjusted recently in patch 1.19. In patch 1.20 they plan on revamping the remaining two disciplines, the ones that don't make weapons and armor, culinarian and alchemist. Once this happens, you'll probably be able to find every alchemy recipe up on the lodestone, and this is probably when fishing will get revamped as well (Probably going to see logging/harvesting adjusted as well)
