Make no mistake, if they made the sets dyeable then they'd get a LOT more money out of this without a doubt. I am certain that they know as much, but they choose not to anyways. The reason being, I am sure, that those sets are iconic to the characters and are intended for cosplay purposes and nothing more. Allowing them to be dyeable would only allow players to make the sets more their "own" and that goes against their wishes to let the NPCs stand apart I believe, because no matter how great any one person thinks the set looks on their character, at the end of the day, everyone is just going to see them as someone dressing up as Y'shtola and co.

Personally, I'm happy for the fact it was on the Mogstation. Perhaps it's selfish but I'd rather if people who weren't serious enough about the items did not get their hands on it as a freebie because I know that - on my server at least - it's already looking a bit ridiculous with all of the clones as it is, any more would just be absolutely crazy. Albeit that's me speaking as someone who is a big Y'shtola fan who isn't mad about seeing clones of her to begin with.... and also a person who has wanted a bobble-less version of the original hairstyle since the beta days, ahah.
