You mean personal storage by using the same box the FCs use? It is a nice idea but you have retainers for holding inventory and they work mostly the same way except they can also go out and get stuff for you.

I remember hearing that those little boxes are rather delicate in their implementation and coding. So much so that I recall the developers saying that placing one in Ishgard without proper testing could cause some big problems.
