Instead of the same flat layout, let us use the jump command and ascend and descent floors for more exploration. Using boxes or broken floors and not just stairs.

Based on their past changes - hunts and raids for example - more HP, more damage, some completely off kilter dps check on boss(es). SE will be yelled at for uninspired design and the "difficulty" will be hated on by the community, which SE will in turn nerf the content within 3 weeks.
Sweet Leviabeetus. o.o And I thought our Mimiception was bad. Chest was a Mimic, killed it, dropped a chest, chest was a Mimic. TWICE.
With soloing being a function of PotD, floor-wide draining debuffs are probably out of the question. Hell, even for most groups without a healer, it'd be out of the question, assuming the mobs become harder/longer to kill.
Probably. That's generally where negative feedback falls short, unfortunately. They express a dislike, say what it is that they want, but don't give any clues as to how they expect their (acceptable) wants to be achieved. Then there's the part that I'd argue practically all wants out of combat specific content aren't achievable. Not referencing the system (e.g. change of stats, dodge rolls, etc), but rather the actual content of PotD itself.Based on their past changes - hunts and raids for example - more HP, more damage, some completely off kilter dps check on boss(es). The best they could realistically do is throw in gimmick mechanics here and there that exists in some way already, be it on XIV or games we might be familiar with. Maybe (for some unusual reason) an LoV-type segment where you control a small simulated army, a WoW Karazhan Chess segment, object use like Gobwalkers or cannons, etc. Maybe some floors would mandate the transformation items to sneak by otherwise unkillable (or difficult to kill) mobs... although stealth and finesse type of actions are something the majority of people on this game would fail miserably and constantly at. Even with the gimmicks, it's guaranteed people will complain that it's boring to repeatedly do (as though there's anything in history that isn't boring or unwanted if you do it too much too fast) or they just outright don't like it for whatever noteworthy or petty reasons it may be.
would be nice if those head statue pop 4x and each needed to split them or they blow up for some teamwork action. odds are nope... cuz its solo able.
Ya it would be nice if the dungeon had a puzzle step to do or objects that move on the Z axis instead of the map being flat.
Or a boss fight where all 4 of the members take turn and become a monster to do a mechanic on the boss.
QoL fun fix. when you turn into a toad you still dont do dmg but can spit a debuff on targets or move slower/jump very far. sometimes its the little things that are fun, like how I enter VA and start jumping then it becomes contagious and everyone starts jumping around me while heading to the boss.
well the bosses i will expect to begin to get raid tier mechanics, thats where the difficulty can be done for them, what youre describinb, sounds like a5, i wouldnt be surprised if they threw something in for a BOSS.
Heres what I expect for potd going by what we have already:
Next jump will give stronger weapon, +60 +60 required probably for "high padjali" (i250-260 my guess)version.
Enemies just being ramped up, more traps, more mimics, new room debuffs
weapon level probably required to 30/30 before entering the next 50 floors(now the grind is gonna be super painful after every clear)
Then probably another jump where the weapon will require +90 +90. (270ish) This assumes that theyre going beyond the 3.55 model were expecting, which was mentioned there might be more patches numbers than was in arr, maybe not.

I would like floors where maybe one room has a poison "lake" before it which can insta kill you and you can take different roads to get to the other side. Maybe someone can change into a succubus and fly over it and change back to get the treasure chest (and need another one to get to the other side again) or maybe if a dragoon can time their jump very well they can manage to jump over it or if you have none of that there would be a device in another guarded room which you can activate and get a bridge. Or make rooms with different hazard conditions. One room has parts with ice all over the floor and you need to be really careful there or maybe one has a river with lava and you need to kick some big rocks into it to get over that...
But in the end it will probably be just rooms with stronger hitting monsters and maybe even more of a time limit..so that its near impossible solo if you can not time it right..(yes I dislike the time limit :X)
Letter from the Producer LIVE Part IX Q&A Summary (10/30/2013)
Q: Will there be any maintenance fees or other costs for housing, besides the cost of the land and house?
A: In older MMOs, such as Ultima Online, there was a house maintenance fee you had to pay weekly, but in FFXIV: ARR we decided against this system. Similarly, these older MMOs also had a system where your house would break down if you didn’t log in after a while in order to have you continue your subscription, but this is a thing of the past and we won't have any system like that.
Palace of boredom floors 51 to 200 <.<
It's quite telling when the community has an attitude that rolls it's eyes when content gts announced.
I'm not saying this is our fault, I am saying SE needs to step up it's game and deliver fun and interesting content.
To me Potd does its intended job well - it lets new players level and catch up, play with veterans, it breaks the trinity system, it does have more duneon elements than dungeons, stuff like traps, treasure. Its fairly decent for levelling up to 50, and its an amazing source of EVERY tomestone(not just poetics and esos, or eso and lore) at 60, on top of that incentive you get a weapon that is pretty strong for now. Yes you can grind lore, do city and get a 240 weapon now, but you have to grind midas and weeping city to get that weapon, this is different content, of course the battle system isnt going to change or anything crazy. But yeah most of us who have seen this sort of stuff, know that improvements are usually really minor
