Cooking Stove-a disappointment

Only been playing 4.5 months and have been in process of fixing my small house up just as I like it. My retainer brought back a Cooking Stove and I was sooo excited as it served a dual purpose to look functional AND actually be functional. Then I found out that the buff it gives Culs only works for 50 and under... FAIL...do 60s not need buffs too???

That would be nice. I'd probably go back to crafting at my FC house again. As it is I just craft in my personal yard with whatever food I buff myself with.

Crafting furniture encourage people to join free companies, and encourage people to level up their crafters. If they affected high level crafters, it would force them to do hard crafting within the confines of their free company homes, and would punish high level crafters without fc's with needed crafting furniture.

I wouldn't want these crafting furniture to affect high level crafting because I don't want to be confined to crafting within a house, and because I know that if crafting furniture did affect high level crafting, the difficulty of those items would be increased to compensate for the existence of crafting furniture that affected high level crafting. Take it from someone who sometimes spends 4+ hours a day grinding high level crafting materials and gear, each crafting taking 40-50 steps. I do not want to be trapped in a house for hours on end like that -_-.

Alternatively, if you think such buff should exist, imo it should be an extremely long duration buff that won't be erased changing classes or dying, like food buffs. Something like 24 hours, a week, or a month.

You would be amazed at how much higher a 60's stats are compared to a 50 crafters...like nearly triple...but i found the buff to be kind of lackluster even for lower level crafters what is it like 10 more cp?

I've said this many times;

Please change the work station effects from a level locked CP bonus, to a durability bonus...

That isn't a major effect, it's already something housing food provides to some degree, and it would certainly not be "required"... It would be a useful, long term Gil save, that any level can take advantage off...

Not arguing with you MikeWW, but where do you craft at? There are places in the world where there is nothing too distracting but within the confines of my own house or even my FC crafting areas are the most peaceful place for long crafts that require concentration. Please tell me you don't craft in the middle of one of the major towns.

I craft close to the beach at a limsa residential district, near the marketboard and summoning bell. But I also craft at major cities sometimes, and have to when offering free crafting/melding.

Heh, yeah that's where my house is at and 99% of the time it's vacant outside. I do the same thing. My roof is also a great place to go (as my neighbor admits to doing when I'm not home).
