I'm still shocked this system was implemented, it really worries me sometimes what goes through their head and why they allowed this. It has to be the most retarded things implemented into XIV so far.

i wouldnt have used these words, but its exactly how i feel.
i just believe there should be a loot pool for these drops just to ease the annoyance.
most people here dont seem to appreciate the 15 min time re enter limit. in FFXI you had to wait at least an entire day to kill most NMs for loot. or use up a large amount of seels to even fight them.
I had to do the Pit of Saron in WoW a thousand times for one friggen drop (actually i never got it, i ended quitting the game)
i dissagree that Primal weapons should be gotten within one or two fights.
15 abilities each? what is this... Kindergarten?A jack of all trades WHM... what is this 1989?
the loot pool has lots of its own problems, selling of gear, priorities of drops, and a lower drop rate overall. These are really each person getting their own drops, combined with rare ex.
you guys complain yourselves into worst situations a lot, i remember the glads who didnt want to manually block, that turned out well.
Yeah I mean come on...i wouldnt have used these words, but its exactly how i feel.

If you could only do Ifrit once every 24 hours or once every week or something. Drops would be HORRIBLE with a system like this.
But every 15 minutes????
It is just showing how unwilling people are to try at anything.
It's the whole conditioning to consume as much and as fast as possible, that has been implanted into those feeble brains by the Media and governments.
"I want it all and i want it now"
Is 20 dmg for the hit like 30 dmg if a RNG shoots?
No DRG for party, camp spot site with 30 dmg, but is it for 20 like 30 dmg when you no hit be it for dd, for 30 dmg instead? or half is 10 for 20 dmg?How i mine for fish?
/shrug I don't want it all and want it now, but even then I can see how this system can, and have screwed over enough people.
people like Visch have gotten lucky, I know some who went 7/7 with less than 60 clears, but at the same time I also know others who are nearing 200 clears that are still 4/7 or 5/7, with duplicate weapons numbering in the dozens. But I guess it's perfectly fine, we all love to spend hundreds of hours doing nothing but farm tapers and repeat the same exact fight that's become so routine that people barely pay any attention to and still clears easily these days.
Ahh, but that's exactly how primal weapons used to be in FF:XI. Every win gave you a choice of a reward; be it gil, avatar, or item. I'm at 4/7 after over 100 wins myself, and 3 were duplicates. So I am at roughly 7% drop rate, which isn't so bad. They should've made it a key item like in XI, so at least I would have all my weapons by now after 100+ wins. Figure roughly thirty minutes per win in total (counting the fight and cool down)...three-thousand minutes of my time spent just to get four weapons; not to mention the time spent learning the fight.i wouldnt have used these words, but its exactly how i feel.

Simple solution to this issue. Beat Ifrit and get rewarded a Ifrit Horns. Now mind you keep the drop rates low...the horn can drop or don't drop but then take the horn and allow you to trade in for one of the Ifrit weapons. That way you avoid duplicates and since some of us don't necessarily want every piece of Ifrit gear it would be nice to just get the chance to trade in for the piece of gear we did want.
Maybe people should step back and look at this from a broader perspective. For starters, one of the reasons for such a system and drop rate may have been to create a sense of exclusivity and accomplishment. After all, a good portion of people want the weapon greatly due to secondary motivating factor: epeen. Sometimes, that might actually be the primary reason. So if the potential for obtaining such an item is increased the sense of accomplishment and exclusivity that people crave is negated.
Does it suck when he drops nothing or a duplicate? Totally! But does that make anyone quit doing it? Maybe, but an argument can be made that those individuals who give up don't deserve the fruits of labor that others put forth. The reverse of that argument would be to ask whether people who don't do multiple runs and suffer bad/zero/duplicate drops deserve to get lucky. But if you err on that argument, you are suggesting a socialist society in which equality is natural and prevalent - a concept that wouldn't fly in an achievement-based MMO.
And don't forget the point about exclusivity: if you suggest that duplicate drops be eliminated, then you suggest that the items be easier to obtain, further breaking away from the concepts of achievement and exclusivity.
Totally sucky? Yeah. A necessary evil? Seems to be the case.
@Yves
lol @ exclusivity, everyone and their dog is walking around with some ifrit weapons these days, the only question is whether they have the one they want, and how lucky they were with the drops. There's zero exclusivity from owning ifrit weapons, people go after them because save for multi-materia'd hq weapon, they're currently the best weapons in game - for the next couple weeks anyway.
