People have been banned (including me) for talking bad things about SE. They don't take criticism well.
There's a difference between criticism and outright antagonizing people under the guise of criticism. The OP is in the former.
There's no spam in Tonberry. Stop the buying and the spamming will stop! Or perhaps the Japanese data-center admins are more efficient!!!
I think the gilspammers just avoid servers where English isn't a primary language.
No point in advertising to people that can't decode the advertisement....
That's not entirely how it works. Once the market has been established, irrelevant to what game(s) make money for RMT activity, they have a business plan. Even if literally no one bought gil (or maybe, realistically, a few people did), they'd still be around just because it likely does not cost them anything to be on the game trying to sell their wares. Maybe less of them, granted, but they're not going anywhere. Western players (as well as folks from Asian countries that find it acceptable, like China) are the primary targets for their advertising, simply because it's how the trade became much more profitable and popularized from many years ago.
If your point is telling everyone that western players accept RMT activities, then quit whining (not you) about asking developers to clean up the shit players created in the first place. That's not entirely how it works. Again, these spams aren't clean English, they are garbled, l33t-speak messes that dodge the spam filters. It's hard to properly convey how this garbage is written without showing you, which I can't do.
They'd have to figure out how to write their ads in Japanese AND then rewrite it in a way that breaks the JP chat.
i personally dont have any issues with RMT that much, same server.occasionally ill get 3 tells within 10 minutes, but thats far and few, its usually about 2 or 3 an hour, and i dont do instance stuff too often, afk alot.
its annoying, but ignorable. as long as its not 10 tells in 10 minutes or some such, which it isnt. its pretty managable, dont filter them or anything either.
blacklisting RMT is 100% absolutely useless. competely. 95% of the time you will /never/ get a tell from the same bot. it happens, but rarely. so you are just filling your blacklist with someone who would almost never msg u back anyway
