I'm not sure if Barrage ignores Crit, given it's a strong damage boost as is. But if what you say is true this should be brought to light so the ability isn't a complete waste.
barrage + weaponskill never crits for all 3 hits. it would be lovely if each hit had a chance to crit :3

I only recently started FFXIV again but Bard is what I've been playing. I enjoyed it a lot while leveling and being familiar with MM hunter I understand why WM came into play at later levels, but I think it hobbles the class a little too much. Changes I'd enjoy:
- Bites are instant even with WM
- Longer duration for Windbite (enough that you'd generally refresh Venomous Bite once by itself before using Iron Jaws to refresh both)
- Longer duration for Straight Shot (somewhere between the two Bites)
- A better UI notification for when Bloodletter procs (I miss WeakAuras)
- Consolidation of DPS cooldown bloat, don't care how just: less is more
- Flaming Arrow removed from ST rotation. Maybe make a trait that drops it when you use Rain of Death; something that limits its use to AoE situations.
Overall I'd just like it to have a more fluid priority system. Right now it feels kind of chunky.

Unless mechanics stop you from using Iron Jaws, you shouldn't use Venomous Bite or Windbite past your opener except for adds. WM lets you use Iron Jaws which renews both at a lower GCD and TP cost.
Making Windbite a 36 second DoT that does 660 potency is overpowered. Moreso since with how DoTs and Snapshotting works, you could have over 80% uptime for JUST Internal Release. Besides, you save more TP and do more damage by refreshing with Iron jaws for just Venomous Bite instead of doing what you suggested.
Personally it's fine as is. It makes the rotation simple since you usually do Straight Shot > Iron Jaws or the other way around, assuming Straight Shot procs don't get in the way.
With the Class System changes in 4.0 this could be a reality.
Agree.
This doesn't stop someone from just using Rain of Death on a single target for Flaming Arrow to trigger. And if the goal is to make it ONLY usable in AoE why not just give Rain of Death a bit more potency to match what Flaming Arrow would contribute? You're also forgetting that Rain of Death also has the Evasion Down debuff, which lowers the accuracy needed to hit the target, making it great for Healers who prefer Crit/Det melds over Acc. Rain of Death having both feels too powerful.
Also what is with this post being Necro Bumped so often?

The warrior of light was an archer in 1.0, warrior in 2.0, dragoon in 3.0 and monk in 4.0Bard is obviously the 'forgotten' step child class. We will never get an expansion that is based off us, like Heavensward was for dragoons, and the next will be for monks. And we'll always get the afterthoughts (OH damn we forgot bard! lets just make them into a caster to make them happy!) when it comes to new skills. I seriously doubt anything got really tested last time around... so why expect the next to be better?
Just gonna say bard can't be that bad since it's part of the best set up meta right now

I love bard as it is now and this is my favorite DPS.
I know I'll have ennemies by saying this, but I'm in love with its gameplay and I truly liked Bard with WM. Don't like the 50 one.

This, running around shooting arrows was really stupid to begin with. and i never understood those that were hopping and running around all the time, when there never was a need to do so. bard has no positionals, so why move except for that half second you have to dodge an aoe.
for mch it's a bit different. that gun loading thing is a bit weird, though you don't really notice it that much cause of the ammo system.
if brd get's to move again i want to cast fire 4 aswell, while running and jumping.
