Farming Mariner Cloth

I was just hoping someone could confirm mariner cloth actually does drop from boarskin maps, since I've been trying to farm this for over 3 weeks without a single drop. In 2.x seems like I was getting these by the bundle, but now...

I can confirm it. It's how I got all the Mariner Cotton Cloth to make a Moonfire Halter for a friend.
You can also get them from Unhidden Leather Maps.
The chance for it to show up is just really low. :B

It does feel that the drop rate has been lower as compared to before, but they still drop from boarskin map. One thing I noticed is, I vaguely recall that in the past I've gotten multiple pieces of marine cloth from a single map, but now even when they do drop, I only obtain a single piece. Not sure if it's part of the ninja nerfing on the drop rate or I'm going crazy.

One time, I gathered a boarskin map and a cloth drop from it, then I bought an unhidden leather map and got another one (I was lucky that day >.<). It's all the matter of the RNG lord either being generous or stingy.

Yeah, they drop drop from Boarskin. Farming maps for rare materials is purely luck based. I spent goodness knows how much money on maps to get Blue Fox Hides back in 2.0 for the Highland glamour set. Sometimes I'd be lucky and get a couple in ten maps, other times I would run 20 and get nothing. I wish you the best of luck though: don't give up!

Definitely from Boarskin. I had loads from ARR but sold most when the recent craze for gear crafted with it occurred.
