I can - where previously only Monk and Ninja had their "buff upkeep" (Huton/GL), most DPS jobs now have their own "Greased Lightning" - Blood of the Dragon, Enochian and Aether Trails/DWT to a degree. BRD and MCH literally get the exact same spell at 52 to homogenize gameplay (And I'm inclined to argue that Iron Jaws functions as buff upkeep mechanism for BRD as well). Interestingly, Monk gameplay scarcely changed over the expansion as a result - you got a nuke and tools to deal with downtime. PLD's rotational diversity got expanded to be on par with DRK and WAR (with 3 combo finishers each).

It just mainly full of fluff content. They don't even acknowledge that raids are even in the game only dungeons and primals.
The OP isn't referencing raiding specifically, or even difficult content. They are asking for more content in general rather than a long list of glamour and minions and a couple of gimmicky pieces of content (all while actual raids and dungeons become stale and less innovative). In the trailers I have noticed that more and more of it is dedicated to new glamour, new hairstyles, new emotes, and that could eventually become an issue.
    My point exactly. o/

Do you think this is the devs fault or the communities fault though? I have seen so many threads of people demanding particular outfits and stupid questions in live letters, that perhaps the devs have shifted their focus based on that

I personally feel that is a bit of both tbh. dev are listening to the community but for trying to please everyone they going backwards ignoring/neglecting what really matters. I enjoyed doing Titan ex ifrit Ex garuda ex after that kinda primal and raid side of the game went down.

I just would like to see more combat in this game. I don't mind glamour stuff but it seems lately that we are paying for cosmetic stuff rather than actual combat which is the essence of a Final Fantasy game.

It looks like minions glam housing stuff have taken priority in this game than Crafting dungeons primals or raiding.

While I'm looking forward to pet glamour (because we didn't get any new pets in 3.0 as promised), I do agree that that becomes a major selling feature of a patch, and it's not really content per se. One of the major features of 3.1 was "these mounts can now fly," which made me laugh.

This already happens very commonly... Crawler Silk/Chimera Manes comes to mind. And literally anything for leatherworker.

I'm pretty sure those items aren't special at all, I'm almost certain they're common hence the reason they drop from mobs. I think OP wants actual rare item drops from mobs, like how Diablo 3 killing an Elite can drop high end craft items.

    Ah.

That's silly. Anything that drops from overworld mobs will always be common before long because it's an overworld mob that spawns endlessly.

To add my two cents to this.

I love FFXIV very much, especially its capability to let me wear whatever clothing on my character that I want.

I played Tree of Savior recently and, despite having a fun combat system, the sheer lack of customization of my character (armor didn't properly show up cosmetically on my character, only the stats actually seemed to work) was very debilitating to me. It's also why I can't stand other MMOs like Black Desert Online, which forces gender restrictions on classes and every class has a pre-determined character appearance that I don't appreciate.

The fluff may seem silly to people who only care about gameplay, but to someone like me who cares about those aesthetics just as much if not moreso than gameplay (truth be told, if they took out the hardcore endgame 8-man raids, I wouldn't even bat an eyelash), I think there should be a balance.
