Just the opposite, actually. I could see why you would think this, but SE originally didn't offer rank rewards for party queue. It was meant to be a "for fun" mode, rather than a serious mode. The community went up in arms demanding rewards for it, so they changed their minds ... then people realized that they could win trade using pre-mades, and that mode went to hell in a hand basket.

I hear that it's doing well, right now, but win trading was a serious problem last season. It got so bad that people actually requested that SE remove rewards from it, even after fighting so hard to get them implemented. I haven't heard much about win trading on Primal this season (though I hear Aether is still having a tough go with it), but you still need to have a regular schedule to participate. It's kind of a give-take situation at the moment. You either join solo-queue with open queue times and a good chance to have a completely crap party ... or you join party queue which had strict queue times and the small possibility of win-traders ...

I feel your pain. Perhaps you remember this one? About two days ago. Double Culling Time. Sleep on enemy healer followed by complete stun rotation. 14 full seconds of no enemy healing on top of vulnerability stacks ... and our Dps STILL failed to kill anything. I don't know if you kept queuing after that, but I had to step away for a bit.

Still, at least you can get to 1200. I feel like I'm locked around the 500-600 point range. For every step I take forwards, I take two steps backwards. Sometimes that's my fault. I'll freely admit that I'm not perfect and make mistakes, but I really don't know what to do when I get a dps team who can't kill things, regardless of how good of an opportunity I provide them. I really wouldn't mind so much if the point scaling wasn't so awful, but those losses count for far more than the wins.

It's literally why I have drg at 57 for higher ratings. The job is easy mode in feast and unfair compared to most melee. I always wondered why Kiri Harato (the guy #1 in Aether feast) always stole kills easily and killed people quick. It's literally the easy mode of all dps in ffxiv pvp. It's pretty awesome for feast

I entered into my first pvp match ever in this game today, and it was The Feast 4v4 solo. Wrong move! I was expecting newbies like myself in their pvp gear. NOPE. The system matched me with three advanced combatants, and boy were they not happy to see me. Long story short, it was a mess and it was suggested I practice in unrated. So I tried queuing for unrated, and 40 minutes later, no queue pop. Hm, instant queue pop with rated and nearly an hour with no sign of getting anywhere with unrated. Broken, this matching is so broken.

Good on you for taking their advice and attempting to queue for 8v8. Unfortunately it is entirely dead. My only recommendation is to just play shatter for now, trying to learn the basics of your class and new pvp abilities, and then step back into the feast 4v4 pre-season when the current one ends - it will be a lot less stressful and people won't be so angry/annoyed that you're new as there is no rank or reward to defend.

If this season was any indication, there will be no more pre-seasons. Season 2 started the day Season 1 was over.

People are too toxic to beginner healers and scare them away from Match 1 without even giving a chance. I've seen some new healers who keep queing and ignore salt making progress and significally improve in just a few days, going from 90% loses to half wins. And scared away healers means less future Gold healers and longer ques for everyone, because your becoming longer and longer que will pop only when another healer ques (they always have instant pops). There are as much bad dps and tanks as healers, it's just that healer mistakes are more noticeable, so why double standards.

I despised that guy with his pocket heals but make no mistake the dude makes the job he is not a product of it. When he was on primal he was the best DRG in the data center during his time here and even on shit jobs like DRK (BEFORE it was buffed) this guy rakes up fevers. Granted its frontlines so the feat is diminished somewhat but the guy is still a monster no matter what job he plays. On a sidenote Monk is the best melee in Feast not Dragoon. Neither are particularly difficult to play but I suppose if you ask me whats the hardest melee to be consistently successful with in Feast it would be Ninja. Monk >> Dragoon >>>> Ninja when it comes to Feast.

It becomes incredibly frustrating to play Feast when my win-rate is determined almost entirely by the quality of the healers queuing on any given day. If SE doesn't see a problem with that, that's crazy. Stop putting my qualifier matches into the hands of players who don't care whether or not they win. I just want to play against players who are interested in playing to their fullest.
