My point is that instead of lasting 8 minutes, the match would last 8 + x minutes of doing nothing, which could become a pretty aggravating way to grief someone when you consider some people have limited time to play and long queues on top of it depending on their role. That would only be a problem if the timer kept ticking while the points were paused, because the winning team could DC a player and just run the clock. If they completely froze the match (no medal drops for kills and timer is frozen), then the only way they could abuse it is if the DC'd player didn't come back at all, but they would probably just consider that a forfeit for that player's team. If the DC'd player didn't come back within x amount of minutes then their team is disqualified at a loss, so there would be no benefit to DC'ing, even if your team was in the lead when you left.
A minute on top of long ques is barely anything. Also, DCs don't happen that often, it wouldn't be bad at all.
I don't disagree with you. I'm just pointing out that it's a method that could not necessarily be exploited. Most other alternatives are ones that could potentially open the door to easier boosting, match fixing, etc. Having to wait an extra minute or two due to a DC isn't nearly as bad by comparison. It would be annoying, sure, but at least it wouldn't adversely effect the gameplay and rankings by allowing cheating.
Never let a DC member get a draw, DC can result only to loose, it's sure it's not fair of loosing point for a DC but doing others option will just be a mess :
if DC result draw : players will unplug the rj45 to get the draw
if DC result no point is loosed : players will unplug the rj45 to not loose point
Off course it will just waste the time of the winning group
I encounter that with fighting game where there is not point loosed when we got disconnected, the result is free cheating and ragequitters...
We would like we can trust players to not cheat but there always cheaters
Last night we had a healer (if you're on primal, ask Felix, was there too) who, before the gate opened, asked us to kill the tank 1st because he kept 'annoying him.' No one said a word and peace was preserved. About 30 seconds later, healer and blm are dead. I run back to our base and stand behind one of the walls, waiting for healer to rebuff and go round 2. Instead, I get a slap emote and 'You guys need to follow instructions better'. after which the healer leaves the match. Since being toxic to new pvpers is to be frowned upon, would it have been better to offer an alternative solution at the start?
Just a public service announcement if you are on Primal DO NOT QUEUE FOR FEAST right now. Atm there is a SCH from Brinhildir throwing games unabaded. This dude will sit at the spawn and allow his teammates to die before running to the middle of the map to kill himself. Reported him twice as I've run into him twice before I stopped queuing but I wont hold my breath on SE actually doing anything. My own fault I suppose since everyone knows you NEVER queue for feast on the weekends.
Update: I actually did get a response from SE saying they have had multiple reports about this guy so he will probably be getting suspended soon. I'll give em credit for taking actions on griefing at least even if they seemingly ignore the win trading.

I'm pretty sure there's a Whm running around doing the same thing. I don't recall their name or their world (might have been the same person), but he/she was VERY CLEARLY making an effort to let the team die. Any heals they did cast were intentionally saved until it was too late, and they went out of their way to feed themselves to the enemy without making any attempts to save their own life. By the end of the match, they scored less that 35k heals. I actually out-healed them with almost 45k on my Pld. So, if you do queue, keep your eyes open.
So it's dying like every other pvp mode at this point? lol

Yes it is. On Chaos, its like flipping a coin. Head is gold healer, tails is new healer. Sadly, you have no other options to play PvP except ranked Solo-Feast. To be honest, I m one of the new healers (new, but prepared). But its like playing against the same 7 people all over again o_O
I m really trying to do my best to keep my team alive (including myself). But even with PvP-skills and gear, the other team is nearly invincible when they got the only one Gold Healer on Chaos (AST). And me? I m easy prey for them T_T
Compared to what? Even as a dps, I can still get into Feast faster than almost any other dps queue in the game. The only exception is a 24 man raid. If you're queuing for Feast, you just have to expect the same thing you do out of pretty much any other queue in the game. Tanks get in pretty quick. Healer's get in instantly. Dps have to wait because they're a dime a dozen. The real problem is that the healers, though. There are no good ones left, so we end up with some seriously crappy matches and ranking up is nearly impossible.
