Can we have an option to turn off the Echo Buff?

One of my biggest peeves with this game, and other games that try to create an automatic "adaptive" difficulty are pick-me-ups that try to make a challenge easier upon any sort of failure. The Echo Buff in quest battles is one of them.

Keep in mind, I understand why it exists. There are players who are content with just getting through the game and don't want repeated failures or the feeling of being "walled-off" from content. This is a good thing imo, but I'm not one of those players. The feeling of knowing that you were basically given training wheels to overcome something difficult really spoils any victory you achieve, and makes the experience feel unsatisfying and miserable.

So my thoughts on the matter would be to add a menu option that allows players to turn it off. That way, those who want the challenge can have it without disregarding those who don't. Maybe even a "first try bonus" of a sort could be a thing just to spice it up, as well.

You already can turn it off, for yourself at least. I went into Seph a week or so ago and the healer was so affronted by echo he clicked it off himself to prove he could still solo heal the whole fight without it. (Yes, he could.)

Its not a setting. Once you get the echo buff you can just click it off yourself. If you on PS4, just hit the mouse pad thing 4 times, select the echo and press x. On mouse you just click it off I imagine.

This can also be done to effects like regen. Its good to remove regens before pulling a mob and you are a tank because the mob will make a b-line to the healer as soon as the effect ticks.

For sure. PS4 users have a very difficult time of it.
