    Airship Crafting Material?

    Hi.
I've read that I would need a lot of material from Grand Companies.
But I cannot find detailed info on this.
Since I have a lot of GC seals, I want to buy some now.

Do I really need thousands of Cokes?
What other GC mat do I need to buy?
Is there any website that lists what kind of material is needed regarding airships?

    http://ffxivforge.appspot.com/
this website does not list GC mat :S

I don't think anyone has made a spreadsheet with the information you are looking for.
However, try this one from the Airship thread on the Items, Synthesis and Gathering board: Workshop

You will need to pick the part you wish to make and then look up the ingredients, find the recipe for items like Darksteel Ingots that need to be crafted (I assume your crafters are a high enough level to see them) check the ingredients and then do the maths from there.

Nobody can tell you exactly what you will need because there is an element of RNG in making the parts. At the end of each stage you will make progress. Anything better than standard progress will cut down the amount of materials needed for the next stage.
I think you can have Progress, Good Progress, Outstanding Progress or Excellent Progress. Good progress cuts down the materials needed for the next stage a little and Excellent cuts it down to about a third (Sorry, it's been a long while since I did any FC Crafting so I may not have that exactly right, but hopefully you get the idea).
You cannot do anything to improve the odds of making better than standard progress, submitting HQ materials makes no difference, it's pure RNG.

And yes, you will need lots of coke. I think we were using an average of 3 stacks a part for the mid-range ships and each ship has four parts. We also used quite a lot of aqueous whetstones for the Celestine and some potash etc.

In your position, I'd probably buy in large stocks of coke and any of the more expensive GC materials that sell well (check MB history), so I could get my gil back if they weren't used.
I know this isn't exactly what you were looking for but hopefully it is of some use. Best of luck with the crafting.
