And everyone else for that matter. i've been hearing of more and more people suffering this issue.

why should i be penalised for being able to play at the same time as peak JP play time, by R0 R0 R0 R0 R0 synthing, mining, logging, fishing. SE should be taken out and horsewhipped for this. ... Never saw it on 11. ... but wait, FF11 has servers all over the world to cover the slack, ... where 14 doesnt.

WORSENED BY THE FACT THAT WE'RE NOW PAYING FOR A %$&@ING SERVICE THAT CUTS OUT DURING PEAK JAPANESE PLAY TIME!!!!

The bad latency is a known issue and SE said they will work on it until 2.0 (Hah as if anyone believed in such fairytales <.<).
I always have a delay of 1-3 seconds independent of time. And splitting the servers would only make it worse 'cause those servers need to sync their information.

I posted a topic about this too (the Laggy topic) where I show that JP players DO have a very big advantage. They have like no delay at all.
I'm a European player, and when i traceroute, I have delay of about ~300ms. I'm a computer engineer, but not specialized in Networks, so I'm not sure about the network structure over the world, but somehow I think it's weird that my traceroute first goes to London, then to New York, then Mexico, then it moves to Japan. Isn't there a shorter path? O.o
Since going to London takes about 60ms, then going to NY takes 80ms, then to Japan takes about 100ms. I'm not counting all the subhops now, just the bigest (and longest) hops.

Pushing NM or mob stuff aside, the lag spikes i get from 5pm JST to 01:00 JST the following morning occur any time a simple act is taking place: synthing, logging, mining, fishing. Lag spikes range from a few seconds to MINUTES!
    i fixed it for you

Interesting thread. I live in Georgia and hardly ever see anything near 200ms let alone these fabled 400ms+ people are saying are for everybody else outside of Japan. Instead of making a rage post try working with your ISP have them watch your connection next time you play and see if it's something on the back end.

This is the kind of thing that won't be fixed until 2.0 due to "server limitations"

Got off the phone with the ISP then, he took control of my comp and tried some things, this is what he left in the notepad for me to tell Square.

Trace routes prove fine until it hits their network.
Tried routing through different LNS's (one in sydney, one in perth) - no difference.
Pings to every other website is fine.
    Packetloss only to central server.
    Problem is not ISP side.
My apologies for insulting anyone, and for the rage post. .... I'm getting tired of R0ing in the middle of a party, or for 20 minutes while farming/logging/fishing, etc. .... I did a /ping ... came back averaging 350ms @ 10pm AUS timezone, 2 hours ahead of Japan.
