SS isn't super useful on Paladin because, the higher your SS is, the more clipping you're going to do on Goring Blade. Our damage rotation doesn't need SkSpd at all because it's so square, and the only potential benefit you'll get from having a ton of SkSpd is that you might be able to not let Goring Blade fall off if you ever need to use Flash, Clemency, or swap Oaths in the middle of your combos.

This isn't to say you should completely evade it (as with Parry), but PLD is the tank that gets the least benefit out of SkSpd. I currently have around 520 Skill Speed at IL 234, and I regularly clip Goring Blade by 2 seconds. I wouldn't recommend going above this.

My advice is for you to focus on stacking Determination instead of Skill Speed. Critical Hit is obviously the most important sub-stat. Also, if you're aiming for materia melds, always meld Strength materia onto the right side gear (accessories).

So with this: Str melds > Crit melds > Det melds > whatever. I'd say also prioritize Accuracy is you EVER find yourself lacking in that department, but it's highly unlikely no matter what gear combination you have.

For the record, I think my Critical Hit is at around 860, but I haven't finished getting proper gear and melds. By the end of this gear tier it should be sitting at around 990.
