    This would be appreciated, if it's at all possible.

    For example, remembering my current state on the item (quality, buffs, durability) each time a new Step progresses. If a disconnect occurs, dump the mats back to inventory. Log back in, the item has 'Resume Progress' option, which restores the last recorded state the synthesis was in. Choosing to reject 'Resume Progress' warns you that any materials contributed to that synthesis will be forfeited (regardless of what you're trying to craft with them now).

I can sit in the middle of a craft for as long as I can stay connected, so it's sitting stored all that time. The disconnect just tells it to wipe all that out, so that just needs to be changed to be temporary storage and upon a character logging back in, reactivate the craft using the info. This shouldn't be exploitable as it's not resetting, you just start where you were, as if you'd run off to take a break mid craft and just returned. The separate instancing and such doesn't seem to be needed as it already does something when disconnected to demolish the craft, they just need to change whatever the routine is to store a minuscule amount of information.

    I can clearly see that no matter how many times I point out that the system can't support it at this present time people just don't want to listen.

    There's not much point in continuing a circular discussion so I will bow out. It's not about what we want to be able to do but what is possible with the current system. If you fail to see that then be my guest & continue to craw about things that you've been told won't happen.

    I just don't believe in the slightest the system can't support it. If the system couldn't then all the the new content would have to be halted. They have every ability to change the system, they're simply choosing not to at this time. This is not a complex issue, but it does take a bit of time to tweak to work. The only thing stopping them is directing one of the programmers to take the time to get it done.
