Haste and spell casting - how does it work?

From a gameplay standpoint, Haste simply reduces attack delay, weaponskill use, and spell casting. In the Palace of the Dead, should the floor give the party Haste, it says something like "Ancient enchantments stimulate your humors, allowing you to act more quickly".

Now one can easily say that for physical attacks, you simply hit/attack faster because you got better reflexes. For magic....I have no idea! Anyone care to share a guess?

Obviously, you talk and recite your spells faster in a high pitch chipmunk voice.

You are filled with arcane energy and replace spellcasting incantations with "Blah blah blah."

Probably the same way Fast Talker works and KitFox got it right. I don't know about the chipmunk voice, but I think you just recite your spell extremely faster... Kinda like a rapper when rhyming.

Yeah I;m gonna have to go with Spellcasting and the Chipmunks here. Though I wonder about Swiftcast though. Haste, Presence of Mind, Fey Wind and Arrow can help speed up the voice, but Swiftcast makes the spell instantaneous. How does that work with speech?

Probably by removing the need to chant anything, so the user can channel the spell right away.

This would be my guess. To force-cast the spell without any incantation takes significant mental focus, so it can only be done periodically. Certain other spells are simple enough that they can be canted instantly without the mental buildup, like Aero and Scathe, but the tradeoff is that they are not very powerful.

If fast talker is your answer, then all our magic casting enemies must have REALLY fast mouths since their cast speed is always faster than ours.

I don't think enemies need to chant anything to use their abilities. Especially primals, I think they just focus their energy, since they're made of aether.
