    MSQ Boss Fight Partying

I ran CM for the first time yesterday. It was a lackluster experience because everyone in my party rushed through the entire content. To be fair, I understand the long-time players don't want to wait for new players either, especially for content they've run through so many times. Supposedly, SE addressed the issue for other content after these 2 dungeons, so I can't see them investing resources to modify older content.

I'm holding off on running the next dungeon until I can find a full party. Problem now lies with finding said players. There are a lot of people (mentors, FCs, random folks) willing to help new players, but asking them to invest an hour or so for me to watch a cut scene and play through the story seems over-demanding. In case there were any takers, I did ask but got no bites. I also tried with PF, but the system is hardly used. Does anyone have any suggestions on how/where I can get a group of noobs together, maybe a reddit sub that I'm not aware of?

It is true that older players just speed up things at least in msq dungeons. Some people that are new, simply mention that they will watch the cutscenes when the dungeon starts and that's it. Any msq dungeon can be done with less than 8 ppl.

But in order not to get kicked, i suggest running the dungeon, skip the cutscenes and when you're done go to an inn and watch them from there.

If you dont mind running these dungeons not-as-intended, theres another solution. You can use the undersized party/unsynched option from the duty finder menu. That would mean that your party members would be at their full power(level, gear, abilities), and that you wouldnt get exp from the enemies. Realistically, you and one person at level 60 could probly handle the whole thing(if one isnt enough, 2 for sure would be). So it might be easier to find one/two people rather then a full party. If you prefer a normal party, your best shot is probly the party finder. Make it clear that you want to watch the cutscenes and have the others wait(they can also watch of course). Have a bit of patience and give it time, and you may well find the party you need. Best of luck!

    Edit: Forgot one point.

This is true. These two dungeons are very cutscene heavy. This was shown to be problematic for the reasons that you experienced when you ran Castrum. Most of the later dungeons that feature cutscenes have them before or after rather then during the run.

The cutscenes is only half of the problem. The other half is anyone who cares about the story has had a huge quest windup leading into these dungeons. You expect something awesome, and when you get in you are basically either just watching cutscenes or rushing through content.

They changed that too. The big climaxes of the last couple storylines have been in trials rather then dungeons. Makes it easier to add all the scenes they want either before you que, or after the other 7 people have left. Not that this helps the people at the end of this particular storyline any.

Why on earth should someone kick the newbie who watches the cutscenes? That would be completly stupid because they lose the bonus and the whole thing is done pretty fast even with 4 people.

I'm glad they did change the way story cutscenes in dungeons work going past 2.0. I still haven't beaten Ultima Weapon (technically) and I'm too scared to queue for the Duty Roulette because I'll be expected to know all of that stuff.

A week or two after ARR launch, wearing i 49 gear/AF gear, watching cutscenes and going through nearly 2 whole parties after a wipe from second to last boss lol cleared the dungeon(praetorium) with 24 seconds left on the clock. Literally at the 4 min mark on the final boss...man was that a long 2 hour run. Two years later, with over probably 600 runs of the same, you probably can understand why people do this for a mere 100 poetics. Luckilly they learned with cutscenes and story, so just those two dungeons will be that bad, they also never gave us another 8 man end game dungeon ever again. At its intended i level theres a chance you can run out of time, so the overgeared vets and players will steamroll this content 100 poetics does not get you far at the endgame, trust me
