I'm not seeing any problems, they all look good.

Yep, this is the first thing I look before I choose my face style. Fortunately, lalafell lips are too smal to be able to notice this with more earthy-toned lipstick.
Tbh, that tail looks totally fine to me
I can see the problem with the lips (pixelated edges) but this is the first time I ever see something like this. Is it possible the person you got that screenshot from is just playing on low settings or something?
In general, the character models seem very high quality, sometimes painfully so...which brings me to my real gripe - overworld textures
As long as this is the overworld, it would actually look less jarring if our characters generally had low quality textures too..

I don't believe you can't see anything wrong with this. The lipstick isn't even covering the lips.
I made this thread before I even found the screenshot and later edited the screenshot in, so I noticed this myself on PS4 with high settings. It may look worse on the image, but the textures are definitely not that great.
If my thread is what you describe as being 'worked up' I'd love to see what you call the angry rant threads. I even said this isn't of high priority.
The issue with the tail is from behind you can see it is shaped like a + symbol lol.
Male Au Ra suffer from this aswell.
Only in FFXIV would people get worked up about subligar, knee high socks, and .. lip graphics.
The whole thing needs an upgrade so our girls look nicer.
If you compare FF14 to some mainstream games like Sexy Beach Premium Resort it becomes clear how outdated the character graphic and the maker are.
I can't believe people are still upset about Miqo'te having tighter asses. I'm with Lokier, nothing wrong with a little weight as long as it looks normal. A healthy feline IRL, domestic or wild, is super lean, anyway.
Anyway, ON TOPIC!
Look at Roegadame lips. They look a little unhealthy without lipstick as they have this odd, patchy and discolored texture. Really chapped! The pixelation on the edges looks better than without lipstick.
As for the tail, I feel the alternative to the + shape illusion of fur would require either a flat texture (would look worse or just like the short hair option) or add more individual hairs (too much to load/render.)
I'd just prefer it to be a bit "sleeker", like my head-hair. I just think it looks a bit out of place when all other hair textures are cleaner... :S
Here's an example from Skyrim....
