I was waiting on Frontlines to pop for 75 minutes last night. I ended up making a very quick trip to the restroom, get back into the room with 2 seconds left on the timer, and was unable to hit accept in time. I never cancel a queue I've been waiting forever for, but the reality of it is that these queues tend to pop at the most awful times. After I get my PvP glamour gear, I'm never stepping foot into those modes until restrictions are removed. Know how long I wait to get a match in Street Fighter, Battlefield, or Dark Souls? Not 75 minutes, that's what. The ridiculous queues make me lost interest in this game entirely because the developers value player time so little that they haven't bothered addressing the issue.

This right here. Spending 1,800 Eso on an Aether Oil vs Gift of the Archmagus when you have to deal with more Eso for Umbrite for the very next step is a terrible idea. 1,800 Eso for an Aether Oil was no big deal when there was nothing else worth spending Eso on. Umbrite being Eso only completely broke that option.

I know someone trying to queue today on Primal. Sunday isn't helping at the moment. Might be the queues are negatively impacted by everything else going on in game. And I've also seen fewer people in game over the past week vs when PotD and Yokai started.

At the contrary, they do value time, just not the way you would like them to.

Why? Long queues = it takes longer to achieve what you are trying to do = you play longer = you stay subbed longer = more money in their pockets.

It takes me an average of 30 min to get into one of the ARR 24 man raids. Ironically, I got all of the aether oil way before I even completed the unidentified item steps (terrible step btw) I can imagine having to spend 1800 esos just for one.

Not sure how it is now, but I remember a few months back many would do the archmagus quest as soon as it resets for the week.

You know exactly what I meant by what I said, and I suspect you know there's a difference between acceptable queue times in a grind meant to keep players playing (curent raids, tomes, etc.) for the long term and content that is "dead" because of poor developer decisions ("but my lore!"). Saying long queue times keeps people playing is like saying Diadem was a developer success because those queues never pop. People keep playing for the other content, not for the dead content.

Labyrinth has always had quite long queue times but it became less when the magus quest was added however the problem right now is we have two events on at the moment which a lot of people are still doing so will take even longer than normal to find groups for it. Once more people finish doing these events I imagine the queue times will start to get back to normal but will still be impacted by your server population and what day and time of day try to do it. I have started to notice more and more people heading off to Mor Dhona to that NPC and getting back to their normal routines over the last few days as I headed there a lot to do the Mor Dhona Ixali beastman tribe dailies but it is still early days especially in regards to the Moonfaire one combined with the YoKai one so a huge amount of people are not back to their normal routines yet.
