(Spoiler) Got the mount from Palace of the Dead...

and I have to say I'm a bit disappointing with the Disembodied head.. Not by the design or anything, but the sound it makes when it's summoned is just the Ahriman sound, and it plays the same music. I was really thinking it would play the music from the 50th floor.

Did anyone else expect more or am I just whining?

It's pretty much just a reskin. Had two people ride them next to each other. The animations are the same too.

Well it sort of /is/ an Ahriman... kind of
They do change mount music at times though
It could very well end up being the boss music from tam tara hm or floor 50, or something creepy in general over time. You never know.

I just don't know why they don't think of using appropriate music for new mounts in the first place since every time a new mount is released the community asks for the mount to play music from related content.

I can see why maybe they wouldn't have done so with earlier mounts, but this is something that should be common practice by now for the devs and for whatever reason it isn't.

It's like when they used to release event gear and then only make it armoirable in a later patch. Now it's common practice for event gear to be armoirable as soon as it is released.

They need to learn their lesson about mount music now too :P

I didn't expect anything more but I'd like it to be something more. Seems very lazy to simply reskin the Ahriman and play the same music for something that's supposed to be a completely different mount.

Palace of the Dead overall was lazily done and basically has the bare minimum stuff required to be called complete. Even the weapon rewards are just already existing models with the textures taken away and a cheap glow added.

I mean the Bennu is a reskin of the Zu mount, The Red Fenrir will be a reskin of the Fenrir why are you people not surprised? I personally like the mount it's interesting looking the most unique mount i've seen so far is the Fat Moogle and it's badass. I guess SE wants to keep the cool mounts to the Mog Station and the reskins/tedious ones to get through their new content that is tedious to begin with.

some research helps before hand. Saw what it was and does over a week ago and saved myself all the potsherds. Don't need another crap mount I will never use so I got a bunch of T5 materia instead.
