While I'd never kick anyone for doing so, I've gotta agree, knockback skills are the worst thing I'm group content. I've told my FC many times that if they knock something back, I'll stop tanking it.
We all have situational abilities. It's great you'd like to use your full toolkit, but this is like a BLM using Sleep when it's not needed, or a WHM using regen between pulls, or any other situational ability.

It's not about you, it's about the party. That might be tough to deal with but you might want to suck it up and end up more skilled in the end.

I have had this numerous times cause players don't like knock back attached to abilities... Guess what TOUGH if it wasn't ment to be used they wouldn't have put it in the game... That's called being a cry baby and you don't want to put extra effort...

This completely destroys your argument, as others have stated. I very very rarely kick people or even vote to kick if the motion is presented. I think I have voted yes on it exactly one time and I've been playing with the system since its inception. Yet, I would vote to kick you if you consistently used a knockback because it is one of the most annoying things for a tank or a melee to have to deal with. However, you need to realize that what you're doing is not beneficial to the party in any way, shape or form. Knockbacks have specific times where they are useful, other than those times, put them away. That's like saying a MNK should use One-Ilm Punch at least every other rotation... after all it's in the game so it needs to be used every chance. It's just not true.

knock backs are a situational skill A.E you pulled agro and need to get a hard hitting monster off you, in which case after the knock back you root them. Allowing the group to deal with said mob n then finish him off, or A.E to cancel an aoe. Knock back isn't a skill meant to be spammed just because its there and ready. Just like bards and goon's don't waste their elusive/exasive jump skills just because its up. (bard more so since it does do dmg). So those players didn't abuse the system to the sounds of it, It sounds like you just did a fine job of being annoying. and sorry when a group of people asks you to stop doing something, and you keep doing it, that's harassment. Which is a kick option.

The vote kick system is fine the way it is, its the people themselves that need fixing. Simply put, "don't be a jerk". I'm sorry but intentionally knocking back monsters just for the sake of knocking them back without any need or reason is well...kinda being a jerk.

There's two kinds of "extra effort" The good kind where the entire party comes together to go the extra mile to make things all work. Then the bad kind where three of the party has to work extra hard because the fourth despite being told to stop what it is they're doing , willingly refuses and continues to be a burden.

I love how this topic pops up every so often...

We've been told before from GMs ( see SS earlier in this thread )... were allowed to kick and/or be kicked for having different play styles. End of story.

You can report it to a GM if you think the feature was "abused" but if it's honestly the case, that you weren't meshing well with your party, they won't do anything about it. They'll sing you the big song and show of "We'll look into it" but nothing else.

You aren't going to get along with every single party you run into in DF and in all honesty most of the time the kick feature isn't an issue at all. Yes it can be abused but most people just ignore it and finish the duty even if another party member is annoying them or doing something dumb..

If you find yourself being kick often enough that you feel the need to make a topic about it perhaps you should examine your own behavior in DF...

The Vote Dismiss option can be badly misused!...

It would be great if SE required people to submit a brief comment to justify dismissing a player so they can later check on any text log if possible to confirm the action!...

I'm not talking about one of the available reason but an additional 200+ characters' comment about the dismissed player's fault!...

Why you ask!?... Because it would fairer!...

It surely doesn't feel nice when idiots, from the same FC most likely, kick you out for unknown reasons, it's happened to me and it can be done to anyone with the current rules!...

I've been kicked once for no reason whatsoever and another time because a tank decided he didn't like me spirit bonding although my gear was absolutely fine (before unsync even existed) and threatened to leave so obviously the DPS and healer chose to kick the easier option which was me.

As I said earlier, 'different playstyles' is definitely a legitimate reason to kick but unjustified kicks do happen and it's really hard to do anything about it.

Different playstyle is not always bad. IF done right ofcorse. I'd call those players trying/doing uncommon things 'smart'.
But there are those that just make the run extramly awful, I wont mind kicking them.
