    User Macro Help

    So I know how to make user macro's... That's great and all, but you need to put them in a hotbar which is clunky and clutters the screen. Is there a way to make a custom chat command, as in;

    /user_macro1

    And then it plays the user macro fo the same name, or number/designation? Also is there a way to make your own command completely? Say /HairPull then it plays a custom hair pulling emote?

    If there isn't, could we PLEASE get the ability o make our own text commands?

    There isn't a text command to call for macros, specifically because then you could chain macros together.
    They're intentionally limiting in more ways than just this. They don't want the game to be automated.

    What do you mean? It would still take a macro program and you could just do that in the macro program. It's pointless not to just give us custom text triggers.

    Because of you get a custom text trigger, you can then place that text command in another macro, press one button, and get a lot more than 15 lines of commands.

    What exactly are you trying to use macros for, if you don't mind me asking?

    Eh just a silly slapstick text emote with a pet animation... But you are pretty wrong. A macro program could easily key a crap ton of macros on hotbars without a second delay basically. This wouldn't necessarily make it any harder to do that but it wouldn't particularly make it harder either, just how we have it now you need to spam a ton of hotbars all over.

    Canadane is right. It's to prevent the game from being automated. If your using a controller you can set the controller to activate macro 98 and 99 with L3 and R3. Then if your creative enough you can make a hidden hotbar of macro's.

    As for the 'but you can just do it with a program'. Yes you can but 3rd party programs are against ToS or dont ask, dont tell for parsers.

    And no you cannot make custom animations but you can make custom emotes using the existing animations and changing the text.

    To be fair, there is already one macro command that can be only executed from the chat line, not in any other macro, that being /macrocancel. I don't see why we couldn't have '/macro #' which would execute the macro of that number, and only works on the command line like it's cancel counterpart. Making named commands though I don't see happening.

    If you say 'pls' because it's shorter than 'please', I say 'no' because it's shorter than 'yes'.
