First of all, please accept our most sincere apologies!

We are urgently looking into countermeasures to address these issues.
That said, we will need to confirm that any fixes do not affect any other content or processes, as this could potentially lead to issues that could render FFXIV unplayable over the weekend.
We need to be very careful with these tests, so we expect the fix to be ready at the start of next week at the earliest.

Once the timing and details have been determined we will be sure to update you all!
Once again, we sincerely apologise to everyone who has been looking forward to this event.

We are working with all haste to address this. Thank you for your patience!
Thanks for the fast response!

While on this topic, could please pass the message that it would be good to give it more thought in future events and permanent content to how they may be played in low and high population scenarios? Both should be expected by now after different experiences with open world content, such as hunts and fates in past events. Also to think about what kind of griefing may happen and what can be done to avoid such situations. Sometimes it seems the dev team thinks too highly of the player base, and while that may be true for a large part of the community not everybody plays nicely, and that should be expected too.
