    Eorzean Olympics? Silly ideas thread!

    Hi all,

    Was very amused to see that in the closing ceremony of the olympics that the Tokyo handover scene involved Mario!

    This got me thinking about the olympics going to Tokyo in 4yrs time.

    Considering hosting the olympics would be a big deal for Japan and Tokyo - imagine if SE did a promotional event at the time - Eorzean Olympics! I realise this is unlikely - however it just seemed like a nice idea to have our WoL competing in a way that doesn't involve weapons and fighting for once.

    Imagine dragoons doing javelin with their lances, or competing in high jumps. Machinists doing competitive shooting. Monks weightlifting. Lalafells doing gymnastics!

    In 4yrs I'd guess we would have more countries and states revealed in game - so players could sign up to represent different states for a medal tally. Or make it servers vs servers.

    Rules? Absolutely no performance enhancing spells allowed!

    Anyway - will you all join me in this sillyness?

    I actually completely expect an Olympics event. Blizzard did something way back when in WoW where they gave out Olympic cosmetic gear and just had an Overwatch event based on it as well, so I expect SE to do something similar when it's on their home turf.

    Hopefully by 2020 they'll stop making every event a damned FATE.
