Question about 2.x relic weapon replicas

I know that if you have the completed zeta relic you become able to purchase its replicas, provided it is somewhere on your person (and not on a retainer)

What I'm wondering about is what happens if you convert the zeta into the astral/umbral nodes for the 3.x relic. Does the game just remember that you've done that, and that you become able to buy replicas for that weapon without needing that weapon in your inventory anymore (since you'd obviously no longer have it anymore)? I'm assuming this is how it works but wanted to get 100% confirmation from someone who's done it.

I originally wanted to keep my zeta relics for "posterity" but there have been several instances now where I went to Hyrstmill to fetch a replica, only to have to go to Hyrstmill *twice* because I forgot to bring the zeta with me. If this is a hassle I could get rid of by converting the zeta relics into nodes, I may very well do it...

YOu can get a replica if you turn into nodes don't worry. Go to North Shroud, Hyrstmill and talk to Drake, the guy who upgrade the poetics armor, and choose Zodiac Weapon Zeta replication or something like that.



You can also choose previous phases of the weapon.

Yeah I figured you could; my question is mainly toward about whether the whole "you need to carry something with you in order to be offered the replicas" restriction gets removed. I imagine it would be, but just looking for 100% confirmation.

As it is now, with a completed zeta I can get replicas, but only if it's not on one of my retainers.

Yeah the game lets you buy replicas without having the original in your inventory.
I actually never bought any until after I had turned in my Zeta bow for the new relic quest.

Not sure if they have fixed that with one of the patches prior, but normally all you had to do was, finish the quest The vital title after you completed your zeta once, and after that you could purchase replicas from the npc even if you still had the original on one of your retainers. Give it a try I would say.

Sorry, old bump, but I checked this, and doesn't work :< You must bring the zeta with you to get replicas, apparently, unless you've converted it into nodules.

Did that quest ages ago ;;
