Regarding the payment. It says on your objective that Final Fantasy 14 will be compatible for hardcore gamers and casual gamers. It is a bit unfair for casual gamers like myself to pay for a 30 days even though I am only playing half of the time (or less). Is it possible for your good office to maybe have an option for casual gamers to pay 30- gaming days, meaning whenever a player logs-in it is consider as 1 game day. Unlike the payment method that you've said before, the 30 days runs consecutively doesnt matter if you play or not.
General Discussion falls under the "COMMUNITY" section of the English forums. This is the official intent of this section:
From here.COMMUNITY: Players can hold conversations related to various FINAL FANTASY XIV topics here.
Dont they celebrate Eid in Ul'dah?
This forum is so inactive compared to most gaming forums. I miss the days when there were hundreds of new posts every few days not the same 30-50 posts on the front page for a week.
I have 8 crafts at 50. All I did was watch T.V. and spam standard for easy mode synths. Enjoy leveling those crafts in 1.19 and beyond everyone!
I do see your point.Just came across this locked thread on the general discussion.
http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...-Eid-Mubarak-D
It was locked because it had nothing to do with FFXIV?!?!
It was in the general discussion. If christmas comes along and I make a thread shouting "Happy Christmas Mofo's" will that get locked too? Or if I make a thread asking people about their other hobbies and interests than ffxiv?
Am I just going a bit V for Vendetta here?
When the U.S. East Coast had a small earthquake, I started seeing these "Did anyone feel that?" posts (or something to that nature)? And while they're completely not game related, earthquakes have been a sensitive topic and I don't recall those posts being removed.
Not sure what the staffing is like now ^_^ but I imagine the topic may have a better chance at remaining open if it appears less as a shout out themed on a religion and more as a prompt to discuss the possible inclusion of an aspect inspired by said culture.
Re: the Christmas bid, Japan mostly does not see that as a religious event and could care less on it's religious origins, BUT the gifts and holiday-themed productions shall surface. Gimme them choco-tree cookies!!! Grrr!!!AR! (sorry, the dog gif finally got to me)
I have a feeling though if a thread was *sees a moderator tapping a club in his hand* Gotta go!!! Ahahahahah!!!

But most of those topics seemed like they were repeats of each other.
I think the newer, more unique topics are being posted in their respective forums, but unfortunately, receiving less attention from peers overall, but there nonetheless.
Hello Everyone!
Just to provide a bit of insight into the reason the thread in question was locked. Since the thread, while well intentioned, was referencing a holiday that is not celebrated in Eorzea, the thread is considered not related to FINAL FANTASY XIV, as listed in the Forum Guidelines. This same guideline would apply to any sort of Holiday Well-Wishing, including (but not limited to) Christmas, Halloween, Thanksgiving (any country), etc. Even "Talk like a Pirate" day.
In certain rare occasions, such as the Earthquake that effected Japan earlier this year, we will allow threads discussing current events or slightly off topic articles, but only because that event had such an impact on the Final Fantasy XIV community, especially in regards to the servers having to be shut down for a short while.
However, as an overall rule, if the thread does not apply directly to FINAL FANTASY XIV, it will likely be closed or removed as it does not follow the Forum Guidelines, to which a link is available below. Specifically we are referring to the second guideline: "Posting content that deviates from topics concerning FINAL FANTASY XIV."
If you have suggestions or feedback regarding the current Forum Guidelines, please visit the Feedback and Suggestions Forum or use the Square Enix Support Center Feedback Form to let us know how we can improve in the future.
Thank you for your understanding!

I can understand Christmas or Thanksgiving but Talk Like a Pirate Day!? The line has been crossed.
Removed due to size restrictions and possible seizures risks.
