Color of 'Temple' Monk gear? Also basic glamour Q.

What color dye would I use to make something match the somewhat subdued yellowish of the 'Temple'/lv 45 monk artifact gear? There's so many colors to choose from

Also, to show how noob I am at glamouring, I don't even know the answer to this:

So I want to dye an item and glamour it as well. do I dye the visual item I glamour on, or do I dye the base item I will glamour over?

As far as dying glamour, you can EITHER dye the item whose appearance you are going to be using before glamouring it, OR glamour it over the item you will be wearing and THEN dye it. Dyes placed on the worn item will be removed when glamouring over it.

For the Monk AF, I can't check right now, but from memory I'd guess honey yellow? Or maybe coeurl? Try putting on a piece of the gear you want to match, and then try the different shades of yellow on the piece you're going to be dying until it looks right to you.

It's a shame, but a lot of the more unique pieces are just slightly off from our current dye options, so you can't match them just right.

Just to clarify the terms, when you glamour, you apply the appearance of a "projected" item over a "base" item.

Now as to your question - when you glamour, if the projected item is dyed, the glamour will also be dyed the same colour. You can then subsequently dye the glamour a different colour (or remove the dye) if you wish.

If you own a rare and expensive dye (pure white or jet black for example) it would be best to use it on the projected item before you glamour. That way if you want to glamour the same appearance onto a new base item (if you get an upgrade for example) you can do so without needing another dye. In addition, if you change the colour of the glamour after glamouring it and then decide you want to change colour back, rather than using another dye, you can simply glamour your dyed projected item over the same base item again.

As to your colour question - I'd suggest you try the colours yourself since different dyes give slightly different colours on different materials. Equip your temple gear, then right-click on your projected item, select dye and set "show equipped gear" using the little circular buttons beneath the preview window. Then you can click through all the yellows (or indeed any colour) until you find one you like.
