Suggestion: Mini Games

Currently this game has so much to offer, but just because it has quantity doesn't mean the quality is always good. One area I feel like is really lacking, but also has a lot of potential are the Gold Saucer Mini Games. They don't really have much replay value given that currently they don't offer a very good reward and aren't really fun to play. The ones that currently work best are the harvesting games (so steps in the right direction). I'd like to see them develop the games in the Gold Saucer much further.

For example this is the Final Fantasy IP so why not play off of that in the Gold Saucer more? They did Triple Triad which is great, but why not add a game that is reminiscent of a 2D Final Fantasy. It could even be playable with up to 4 people and have a story that progresses each patch.

Another idea would be to reuse more of their successful Mini Games from other Square Enix series.

This is just my two cents, what are your thoughts?

Or they could also add more toy chest minigames. Even basic ones like snake, a small platformer-type game, etc. Currently there is only 1 (that you can get now) and honestly, it kinda sucks.

Yeah the one we have now is kinda ehhhhh. To be honest it just kinda felt like an afterthought and idk why it's called the toy chest if its not FULL of games lol.

I would really like a slots game. I had so much fun on the ones in Serendipity in FF13-2 and Dragon Quest 8.

Theyve already invested a lot of design time into chocobo racing, verminion, and triple triad, all of which have been largely ignored by the majority of players. I play on one of the busiest servers and you can sit in the lord of verminion and choco racing area and rarely see anyone there. I never see anyone playing triple triad in the world where its allowed. I saw one guy the other day playing an NPC, but prior to that I havent seen someone playing triad in months. No one I know in the game plays any of them. This is not to say I hate this type of content, because I was kinda sad to see it flop so hard, but the devs sink a lot of time and energy into this content im sure, and then its ignored aside from what is likely a very tiny minority of players.

There's actually three possible minigames you can get for the Toybox, but only one is still available, the other two were gained through limited time special events. The one still attainable is Parley which is gained through the Hildibrand sidequests (originally Parley was a minigame from the original 1.0 version of FFXIV). The two minigames now unattainable are Slide I+XIV which was gained through the first Rising event in 2014, and finally Concentration that was only available for a short time during another seasonal event which I can't remember (or even find information on alas).

Either way, I'm sure SE will continue to add more minigames as time goes on.
