Desynthesis Question

I decided to level a fisher to 60 in order to desynthesize fish with cul but since im new to this, does desynthesis skill level has anything to do with class level? My cul atm is 38, will i be able to desynthesize lvl 60 fish for example (provided i have the des. skill to do so) or should i level cul to 60 as well?

From what I remember of the original release notes for Desynthesis, your desynth level is capped in relation to what level your actual crafting class level is. Unfortunately I can't find any wiki pages that state whether or not this is the case after some searching. Leveling Culinarian isn't all that bad though, all its cross-class skills are very useful if you have any interest in crafting.

I cant find something that proves my statement or yours. However, neither in official patch notes for desynthesis or in any guide appears to be a class level requirement besides 30. I know most profit comes from crafting but i like gathering more and especially fisher since i fish irl and most fishes and tackles exist as well.

What? no that was never the case. You need lv 30 cul to unlock it, then can go all the way. The only thing that sounds like what you're saying is retainer levels.
