    Can you provide a bit of context to this "back in 1.0" reference? Was this after they decided to stop development (and the game itself) while they refit to version 2.0? Was it at the height of popularity for the game? Was it after every single forum (there was a forum, right?) topic went toxic?

    I don't see how the needs to focus on "what could we do to fix this train wreck?" currently applies. [I assume here that the answer to my questions are Yes, No, No. But I wasn't around then. Too busy playing another major MMO.]

    I can tell you one thing that would have to get asked if an in-game poll was asked: "Would you like to see more items for sale in the store? What kind of items?"

    @DPZ2

    They asked questions like "Would you be willing to see drastic changes in gameplay" and "what jobs would you like to see." It was a few months before 1.0 shut down and they were getting feedback for how to make 2.0. They basically did the poll when they realized 1.0's entire structure wasn't going to work and needed to be bulldozed and rebuilt entirely.

    With more and more people seemingly unhappy with the different kinds of content being produced, it may be a good idea for SE to get feedback from a wider base than these forums.

    I can't really believe that we are at That Point in this game.

    Some people appear to be unhappy. I don't think there's anything that's going to make them feel happy over the next year or so, because the changes I've seen requested are too radically different from current game play. They can't logically arrive until the next expansion (if ever).

    This doesn't mean you shouldn't ask for change. It means you need to be realistic about a possible time frame, or the fact that "No" is an acceptable answer from the company.

    I would love to have a poll. I want to show them where they could use some work to improve the content.

    only if the poll was for all to answer, with a mandatory screen when you log in-game to answer the poll. This to ensure that everybody had a say. If you dont answer you dont access the game. Only this way, SE will get a true vision of the game.

    Of course there would be a *dont care* answer possible.

    Why ? because that way we wont have the usual long whining list of those that complains they had no say and how unfair it is and the yada.

    Seriously, a poll is not necessary, it goes as well from the number of subscriptions/unsub the game gets...may not be perfect but is a good indicator in my opinion

    The way it worked during the 1.0 cycle was it was advertised on the Lodestone, in game (the system message that pops up when you log in), and in this version they can use the launcher. I'm not sure if forcing people to participate before logging in is a good idea, perhaps a pop up window might be a better option.

    If they ever do a poll, they should do it in game and make it one poll per account. It should be optional, naturally, but have a way for those who accidentally x'ed out of it or those who currently don't have the time to do it a chance to do it, like in the Support Desk.
