It will likely be focusing back on the Ascians and Warriors of Darkness. Future events will likely put us in Ala Mhigo.

I am almost certain 3.4 will bridge us into Ala Mhigo. My guess is the story will shift to Yiguri and we may finally see Yda and Papalymo again.

Right now all fingers seem to be pointing towards Ala Mhigo and trying to get the Empire out of it. I am interested to see what will find out about the Warriors of Darkness since we don't know much about them other than that they work for the Acsians.

I tend to agree about Ala Mhigo and finally meeting back up with Yda and Papalymo.

Yoshi-P did mentioned making a decision if Heavensward should have a sky or sea theme. Of course, sky was picked.
I'm not sure if this time the next expansion will be a sea theme because Gyr Abania (assuming that 4.0 is all about Ala Mhigo) and the surrounding areas are highland areas so I doubt there would be seas there unless they make us journey overseas. Maybe the tiny islands in Vylbrand or somewhere outside Eorzea (possibly Thavnair, Old World; Sharlayan motherland, Othard, Ilsabard? etc).

yeah thats what i thought looking at an eorzean map that the only way sea was possible is either coming around from west of sharlayan around abalathias spine or through the east shroud(seems more likely) going underneath by sea would mean we go ALL the way around garlemald and im guessing the near east which, doesnt seem to be a very good/efficient route to take to just go east of coerthas

Most likely it will be the same thing like it was leading up to 3.0 and we end up in a new land. Where people will ask me to do things for them and I will nod and smile because I'm a masochist apparently.

3.4 is also going to be adding new GC ranks to the game so I hope there is some main story for that to since ishgard is more or less fine. As far as the other main story stuff goes, I have a feeling it will be us and the scions teaming with Alisaie and going after the Warriors of Darkness and the Ascians once again. It's my hypothesis that Alisaie will tell us what she learned, we'll go investigate a lead, and it will ramp up from there.
