Complaints Concerning the Yokai Watch Event

Can the Dev team please make it so that just having the Yokai watch out for the event guarantees a legendary medal or something? I don't think anyone in their right minds wants to spend time doing over 222 FATEs (7, 9, 11, 15 x 7, and 30 x 3) across Eorzea for an Event. The RNG dropping for the legendary medals just makes it tedious. I spent about two-ish hours just getting the first one, and knowing that the last few cost 30 medals a piece means I might just be spending seven hours for one weapon. How is that in any way a way to make anyone excited to play Yokai Watch or even this game?

And just to get these probably post archetypes out of the way...

    ---
"It's OPTIONAL! Don't get so whiny about an option event you entitled baby!" --- I get it it's optional, the entire darn game is optional but that probably doesn't stop you from saying something about any issue you have with the game.

"It's just a ~bare minimum~ of 222 FATEs! Stop being such a whiny baby, there are worst grinds in the game" --- I'm well aware of the other grinds in the game, I'm also well aware that people find those pretty annoying too. I'm not saying just give me the weapons for existing, I'm saying make it so all that's required is 222 FATEs, is it really that much to ask for? I've got a level 60 character and I'm pretty sure after doing this event to completion I'll have at least quadrupled the amount of FATEs I've done so far.

"The mount for getting all the weapons is suppose to be ~special~! Stop being entitled when people have already gotten all the weapons/mount!" --- I'm aware! And trust me, those people deserve to be congratulated for such will power to do that grind, but fact of the matter is is this is some regular event stretched over the span of a bit over two months, by the end of it hopefully most people who want to get it will have it.

"You've got two months to do it. If you stretch it out over that time it's not going to be a big deal." --- I'm aware of this as well, but I don't know if anyone wants to take a few hours of each day (Again, like, 7 hours for one of the final 3 weapons means 21 hours total) to grind fates for it though. Some folks rather just get it done, and I've seen plenty of folks say that the grind just isn't worth it period.

"If you want it, work for it, otherwise you don't deserve it." --- Again, I'm not saying just give me the rewards of the silver platter, keep in mind a bare minimum of 222 fates just about doubles what I've already got in FATEs I've done just playing the regular game. To the casual player I'm sure that's enough annoying FATE grinding, I don't quite get why that's not enough for you.
    ---
And please, just as a last note, can we as a community just stop using the term "entitled"? It's so overused the word lost all meaning and it's not even much a valid criticism in the first.

Edited number values as I added an extra 15 to the amount of Fates, oops!

You also forget that the event lasts 2 months, which is probably why the drop rate is low. If you could get it all every time, then the event would die out sooner and may as well just lasted a few weeks.

The question is here is what was stopping them from doing just that? A clause between Lv5 and SE that the event had to last at the least 2 months before it got removed?

I mean I could be reading into it too much but could also be just to allow certain individuals who can't play much be able to get at least one weapon.

Maybe they are thinking people will happily deal with that, but with all the heavy RNG content they've put in it seems to be a weird decision.

I lost the effects of my "happy" pill, I can't see FFXIV like this anymore .

Yes, this is a casual game for the most part - that doesn't mean people need to walk on eggshells in fear of getting reported for pointing out things. This whole 'please don't say anything even slightly negative' mentality that we seem to be going towards and the devs seemingly pushing towards it is creating a disturbing trend.

I wouldn't mind the grind if the rewards matched the effort required, but as it stands they really don't so I'll just not do it. No point in complaining about a grind for something I don't care for, right?

Love this pic. A perfect analogy to the current state of FFXIV and people that blindly defend the things it does.

Lasting a few weeks should actually be preferred. I've been trying to level up my WAR and PLD in Aery, and I sit on average for eight minutes AS A TANK. No one's running the leveling fates. I tried to do a treasure hunt group the other day, and one person signed up during the hour I had it open. About 75% of the PFs were for Yo-kai. These kind of events that make you waste hours upon hours of fate grinding should NEVER last more than a few weeks, because it keeps people from playing regular content.

This is exactly my sentiment. Overall, the whole purpose of this "event" was to waste time, and inflate player count numbers in low level areas (notice how Northern Thanalan, Coerthas, or Mor Dhona weren't options?) while the Free Login Campaign was going on.

It's agenda driving at it's finest.

I don't think anyone considering doing the event has "forgotten" about this

The complaint is more that the event feels arbitrarily stretched out *because* it's lasting for 2 months. This degree of grinding was never necessary to obtain all the rewards from a "one for every class" event before.

It'd have been another story if it actually had you doing different stuff to obtain these things, like some past events have offered you a choice in activities to get your tokens... but here it is just all FATEs, and all regular FATEs that we've probably all spammed to oblivion before for EXP/atmas already, not even any new event-specific FATEs.
