Tattoo on the back for all players?

I'm a legacy player. I don't mind if player have tattoo system too but i just hope the tattoo doesn't look like the legacy one different design would be nice

But one thing i wonder the tattoo at the same place for legacy will it create a problem/bug ??? the system make the tattoo to appears on/off in-game exemple if a legacy don't want the tattoo and want to wear the veteran tattoo 2 tattoo at the same spot. Because veteran will apply to everyone that reach the number days played.
So for me to make everyone happy would be for the dev to change the system and add up a tattoo system to the in-game hair changer but only legacy can see the legacy tattoo and everyone see the other style and at the veteran reward we get it like those item for new hair style.

i don't know if anyone will like the idea

I don't really get the rift between legacy players and people that started after 2.0 launch. Is it completely a troll act or do some of the people really get angry with each other?

I suppose I'll say which side of the board I come from. I have a legacy character... well a 1.0 character. I only ever played the first month of the game before giving up. The game was just too tedious for me and I just quit as soon as "Rift" came out I think. So like, why didn't I just play that character when I came back in 2.0, right? For one, it's on Aegis...which is a JP server... I could transfer it though right? Why not transfer? Honestly I don't think it's worth the money to do so. What do I get out of it? A back tattoo? I never farmed any of the cool 1.0 stuff so it would just be the tattoo. That is, I never even logged into it to see if it actually has the tattoo, since the 2.0 release... I'm not sure if you had to play it longer or something or just create it during 1.0... dunno... But I didn't even care to check. So basically, I don't care about the tattoo...

That said.. this whole thread about wanting a back tattoo... A++ Troll thread OP! I mean, it's so dang specific. You don't want a belly tattoo or a arm tattoo... It HAS TO BE a back tattoo! LOL I mean, what percentage of real tattoos are back tattoos. If you just randomly picked a tattoo, the odds that it would be specifically a back tattoo (say if you never heard about the legacy tattoo) would likely have been small statistically speaking. But you want something that a few other people have. Which means, you probably know someone who has it on your server.... Myself I've seen like...maybe 2 players with one? And the thing was, I only found out because they had a rare title...then I knew to ask if they had the tattoo so I could see what it was... (like the title "The littlest princess" or something, I forget)

But yea... this is a troll thread... or you are just specifically wanting a tattoo to compete with the person who has one that you know. Either way... It made me laugh. Thank you. When it comes to the tattoo itself... they can give them to everyone or not. I could care less. Like I said... I "could" have one but I didn't bother. It means nothing to me. Is SE going to honor everyone's feelings and stuff regarding special legacy only stuff? Well let me as a better question: Have they already been protecting people's legacy only stuff? NOPE! They keep recycling and rereleasing that stuff like nobodies business (Gobuee Mount...etc) .... Next thing you know, even the legacy's players cheaper subscription price will be something you can earn or something (which would be dumb but... whatever)... Soooo yea, in my humble opinion, yea SE would give everyone back tattoos.... They'd do it to get people excited or something. "Hey back tattoos are a rare thing and I can get one! Everyone will have them now and they won't be rare anymore.... BUT I will have one so they are special again. They totally weren't special when I didn't have tho!"

Perfect 5/7 troll thread. Btw, the back tattoo is covered by gear/glamours 99.9% of the time. It was in that spot so it would only really ever rarely be seen... That's what this thread is so great.

its not a troll tread it was an idea that i had that i wanted to share the idea of having this brand or tatoo on the back that changes form depending on your veteran status and even if it never gets seen so is the legacy brand it is never seen because it coverd but it dosnt mean that it woulnt be a nice feature to have

and i am not saying that 2.0 players should get a legacy brand but i mean something that everyone gets even the legacy players its not a troll post its only an idea

i may have specifically said on the back but if square ever made a veteran tatoo system it could have gone anywhere from arms to hals and the back and i am not against having tattoos anywhere else on the body

just my original idea was to have some sort of tattoo that would show how long you have been playing the game i dont care if i dont see it
but it would be nice if i had something like that

I think that specific section where the legacy tattoo resides should always be for it. Anywhere else on the body I'm down for.

I'm honestly against anything that encroaches on the 1.0 rewards, the tattoo is a reward to 1.0 players for subscribing through a dark time in the game, and is almost an apology from the developers, and a thank you for subscribing so long.

We already have Vet rewards based on game time, and as 2.0 onwards was enjoyable and relatively unchanged (not to the extent of 1.0), I don't think we deserve rewards like that. I know what you are suggesting is a unique reward, but it would devalue the 1.0 tattoo by making an equivilent reward for all players.

(btw I'm a 2.0 player, I don't have the tattoo)

Actually, the tatoo is not a reward for subscribing to 1.0.

It was given to any character that an account had that was created during 1.0.

Why that specific section? Isnt it more logic to say that the tattoo that the legacy players have should be exclusive to the legacy players only. The back and the arms are the most common places for a tattoo, its very silly to make the location of the tattoo exclusive.

Legacy tattoo should be for legacy players only, but the places where one can put the tattoo should be left to the players.

So i was wondering Legacy players have a Tattoo on there back showing there legacy status from 1.0 etc.

What if there was a Veteran Tattoo thats tied to the Veteran Reward status or some other kind of system that counts how long you have been playing the game.

The idea here is that everyone gets a tattoo on there back that can be turned on or off like the legacy tattoos and the longer you play the more progress you see in the tattoo and that it will change and evolve in a way.

Even if you were to make different brands or different designs, the simple fact is that the majority of people would not know that and would mistake the 1.0 one as just yet another design.

You had one chance to get a back-tatoo and that was supporting 1.0 FFXIV.
Just like me, you decided against it/did not know about it and did not take your chance, so now you do not deserve to have that.

Serously, there can´t be a single MMO with veteran/founder rewards, without the rest of the community pawing at it in a way or another or asking for a substitute.
Those rewards are there for a reason, and it would be unfair to devalue that reward in any way or shape just because you think it´s cool and want it too.

Why is it that every other thread in this forum is "I think i am entitled to/ i demand x, GIMME"
Back tatoos are 1.0 rewards, deal with it.

(And yes, as a 2.0 player i also think it would be cool to have, only i understand why i don´t)

Implying that 1.0 players are trying to be treated like special snowflakes is actually kinda insulting. I have seen a tonne of people in this thread (myself included) in defense of 1.0 players who don't have the tattoo themselves. Having something special and exclusive is not a bad thing, trying to retain it's value is not a bad thing. I honestly don't mind a tattoo system so long as the back remains clear, arm tattoos, neck tattoos (like the scion symbol), those are fine, but if you start encroaching on the 1.0 reward, then what was the point of the mark in the first place?

Please have some respect for players, I didn't preorder ARR, and I don't go around asking for an alternate cait sith minion (as much as I want one). I respect the players that did preorder the game, and move on with the knowledge that if I do nab an exclusive reward, then it should feel more valuable, though right now I would feel fearful that some player on the forum will have a tantrum.
