I'd rather not do anything to upset the legacy players, we know how salty they get whenever something like this is mentioned.

Too bad it's not account locked, i mean, you played the 1.0, all your characters should be abble to get it, not only the first one oO (except if they use a lore card, i think someone mentionned it before on the thread, that the brand had something to do with the lore)
Did the "old" characters had to go throught the MSQ and job quest even if they were already 50 ? Cause that would prevent old players from enjoying all the 2.0 content if they had to choose between creating a new toon or keep the brand
They had to start over and complete all the quests, at whatever level they already had, but got synched for the duties.Too bad it's not account locked, i mean, you played the 1.0, all your characters should be abble to get it, not only the first one oO (except if they use a lore card, i think someone mentionned it before on the thread, that the brand had something to do with the lore)

I thought the reward for subscribing through a dark time in the game was the Developers nixing the subscription fee for the last few months of 1.0, and then making the game awesome with 2.0? The back tattoo seems like a nice nod more than anything else. Personally I'd rather it was made available to all players. I've seen it sort of become a status symbol at times, segregating the community, which isn't a good or healthy thing at all.
Legacy players get a cheaper subscription, keep special items from 1.0 that are no longer obtainable, special legacy chocobo, and characters that survived the 1.0 calamity got branded.I thought the reward for subscribing through a dark time in the game was the Developers nixing the subscription fee for the last few months of 1.0, and then making the game awesome with 2.0? The legacy tattoo should stay that legacy. I also don't see why people fuss about a tattoo that 99% of the time is hidden by clothing, or hair.
I don't see why they fuss about it either to be honest. Therefore they should make it available. Personally I rather like the idea of an optionally displayed tattoo linked to the Veteran Rewards that grows more detailed the longer the player stays subscribed.Legacy players get a cheaper subscription, keep special items from 1.0 that are no longer obtainable, special legacy chocobo, and characters that survived the 1.0 calamity got branded.

By fuss I do mean both ways. The legacy players, and non-legacy players.
Also you stated
yet you want it to grow like some sort of status symbol? Isn't that a bit contradictory to what you just said.
The difference being it's not something that is unobtainable. Just because I haven't been subbed long enough to get the Cloud Strife Outfit, doesn't mean I can't be subscribed long enough to get it. You've a point, it's a status symbol to a degree, but its not exclusive. It's something someone can work towards. Exclusivity engenders segregation.
It should remain for characters that survived the calamity only. The brand applies to all 1.0 characters, it does not require the legacy status that the other rewards require. Only that the character existed in 1.0.Legacy players get a cheaper subscription, keep special items from 1.0 that are no longer obtainable, special legacy chocobo, and characters that survived the 1.0 calamity got branded.

Reading too much of the forums makes me very sad and apathetic.
