Will I be able to max out all three of my chocobo's skill trees? (Read carefully)

So I'm currently training my chocobo and he's now rank 14. His skill trees are as follows:
Attack: 10 (maxed)
Defense: 7
Heal: 4

I did some research and according to a lot of sites, at rank 20 you will have received enough SP to max out all three skill trees. But will I be able to do that on my chocobo? Here are my calculations on how future SP distrubution would look:

SP received at rank 15: 10
Spare SP since last rank: 2
10 + 2 = 12 SP total available at rank 15.
8 SP goes to Defense, which means 12 - 8 = 4.
5 SP is needed for the next healing skill, so I leave these 4 SP alone.

SP received at rank 16: 10
Spare SP since last rank: 4
10 + 4 = 14 SP total available at rank 16.
9 SP goes to defense, which means 14 - 9 = 5.
5 SP goes to healing, which means I have 0 SP left.

SP received at rank 17: 11
Since I have no spare SP since last rank, I have only 11 to work with.
10 SP goes to defense, which means 11 - 10 = 1 SP left.

Spare SP since last rank: 1.
12 + 1 = 13 SP total available at rank 18.
6 SP is needed for the next healing skill, which means 13 - 6 = 7 SP left.
Incidentally, since I need 7 SP for the next heal skill, this means we are left with 0 SP once all SP at this point has been distributed.

SP received at rank 19: 13.
These 13 is all I have to work with.
I need 7 SP for the next heal skill, so 13 - 7 = 6.
Next heal skill requires 8 SP, so I save these 6.

SP received at rank 20: 14
Spare SP since last rank: 6
14 + 6 = 20 SP total available.
I put 8 SP into the heal tree, which means 20 - 8 = 12.
Next heal skill needs 9 to unlock, so 12 - 9 = 3.


So, this leaves my rank 20 chocobo with these SP distributions:
Attack: 10 (max)
Defense: 10 (max)
Heal: 9.

PLEASE TELL ME MY CALCULATIONS ARE WRONG, because I love my chocobo companion to death and want him to be as much of a badass as possible.

You can max out all three skill trees at rank 20. I've done it three times now for three different chocobos.



As you can see, there is 0 SP remaining and all skills are lit up so that means my chocobo has them all.
You can make your chocobo the badass you always wanted him to be.

Then PLEASE show me where in my calculations I screwed up, because I've done this three times now and I still get the same result (the one seen in the first two posts).

I am not sure where you messed up because I don't know exactly how much SP you get for each level. I can assure you though that you can max out all of your chocobo skills so it doesn't really matter where the calculation error is.

It takes 55 SP to reach rank 10 on any of the trees. 55*3=165 SP total needed for all 3 ranks

You get the same # of SP as your level until level 10 (So 1 for Level 1, 2 for level 2, and so on until 10). Then it's as you said, 10 SP per level until 16. 11 for 17. 12 for lv 18, 13 for 19, and 14 for 20.

So from level 1 to level 10, you get 55 SP (enough to reach rank 10 in one tree).

You then get 10 CP per level to 16 (6*10=60 SP)
Then 11+12+13+14=50CP for levels 17-20

55+60+50=165. Enough to reach rank 10 on all 3 trees.


Also I see the error in your calculation:

6 SP is needed for the next healing skill, which means 13 - 6 = 7 SP left.

Thank you so much, this was exactly the kind of answer I was looking for! I'm really bad at numbers so I figured I had messed up but wasn't sure how or where exactly ^^; This is really reassuring, now I can keep on training my chocobo in peace.
