New players

Hello members of Sargatanas! So recently I got wife and couple of friends to join in on my FF14 adventures. We made our on Free company so its pretty small. Just looking on feedback on if its important to join a bigger Free company or keep it small. Reason I ask is because My wife and one of my friends (Tinkie) are new to mmo's in general, while my other friend (Cesc) and I have played multiple mmo's, and been in huge guilds for raiding and hardcore PVP. So I am looking to gain more friends to eventually at a casual pace work our ways through end game stuff. However just don't know if I should recruit more people into our created FC, or join another one.

well theres pros and cons of both avenues, linkshells are the best medium ground really, if you can find a few good ones to find like minded people. In a big FC youll run into many interesting people, if its active and can make friends(or enemies) alot easier if youre not as vocal or outgoing in the overworld areas, but again youll probably end up being a number. With your own FC you can dictate and have some administrative authority but it takes a very long time to get it built up, not impossible even for 2 or 3 people to do/ Recruiting more people will make levelling it faster, tough decision but theres no right or wrong answer

Hello Drashir and welcome to the game. I wanted to throw an option out there for you, if you may be interested.

I help run an FC with a friend of mine and his wife. We have just come back from a 4 month break from the game, and are now starting to recruit to rebuild our roster. We have all the infrastructure still in place however - a Large mansion fully furnished with every amenity, Rank 50 Airship, 24/7 FC buffs available, extremely well funded in gil. We also still have our teamspeak server up for those who want to voice. We plan to rebuild to the same type of structure we had before we took our break. 40-60 members in size, close knit atmosphere, a focus on adult players. We are not a hardcore "3 nights a week" raid guild, but we like to experience all content. We like to keep a smaller FC size, so that we maintain that "everybody knows everybody" atmosphere that tends to get lost with guilds who zerg recruit numbers. The atmosphere and mood in the fc is important to us and we recruit to maintain it. The only downside at present is we are JUST returning to the game after this long break, so our roster is 3 people right now. Before the break we sat around the desired 40-50 members. If you have an interest in joining and working with us to rebuild our roster, we would love to talk to you about that, and see if we are all a good match. We would be happy to help you guys progress in the game, running dungeons or the like. We have lots of 60 jobs and can build any composition. We also have all the crafts covered and like to be self sustaining (no need to go to auction house if we can make it.). We are just looking to make some close friends in the game again, of similar age and mindset. If you, your wife, and your friend have any interest contact me.
