Forum Enhancement Suggestion

This is a suggestion for the Character Profile page.



The forum icons at top are Notifications, Inbox, Bookmarks, and Account Options
Upon Clicking on Account Options new options dropdown

• Edit Profile
• Participated
• My Drafts

Participated shows all thread that a player has commented in.

My Drafts allows the user to start a post, save it, and continue with the post later, this process is repeated until the user post the topic or thread.

The Discussion section shows all post the user has created.
The comments section shows all post the user has commented in.

I suggest new reactions in addition to like.

• Developer: Shows when a forum administrator or developer comments on your post
• Likes: Functions just as it does now.
• Agrees: Means the user agrees with your post but not necessarily likes the post.
• Insightful: Means the user thinks what you posted sounds brilliant or enlightened them on a subject.

Under the About Section:
Anytime you post something. The last thread you posted is displayed underneath the about section. Provide an option to clear the displayed post for the user.

The problem is, as awesome as your ideas are, the forum software was not even made by SE themselves, but is actually proprietary software called VBulletin made by a third-party company, so SE are restricted to only being able to include functions that the software allows.

Still, I would love to see some enhancements made to player profiles in the forum, such as icons stating things like their ls and FC names, and extra icons if they were an Alpha/Beta tester and even if they were a 1.0 player, and have Legacy status. But again, as mentioned because SE are limited by what VBulletin allows, I don't expect such enhancements to be added sadly. May I be proven wrong though!

I would gladly switch to a website that supports this, even if it meant having to abandon profitable threads or use both sites until those fall off.

Given the inbox, I'm assuming forum-goers can message each other directly?

If so, there are only a few things I'd like to add:
- A player-tracker (see if Anonymoose has put up any more delicious lore threads)
- A subject-tracker (are there any more threads including X combination of tags?)
- Shared projects (take that as you will insofar as sub-functions are concerned)

and maybe:
- Groups (which can then sticky certain threads, or agenda points to hammer out)

At that point you've damn near perfection. Not just greatly enhanced functionality — (near) perfection.

What forum software does Elder Scrolls Online use? They have a very robust forum setup. Maybe SE could purchase that?
I have never run out of room or had to quit a post to bypass a limit there. You can make huge post with tons of pics and video and pretty good forum code.


I would check myself, but I wouldn't know how to go about checking what software is used...
