Palace of the Dead is Awesome!!

This mode reminds me of the older games like Dark Cloud where you run dungeon floors and advance while you level up. I enjoyed playing with different alt characters and viewing their skills as you easily lvl up in the dungeon.

I feel like it gives me a trial run of the character so I know how they work for me if I like them or not. I hope they add more bosses and floors and as one mentioned before, I really hope they make a Full Party version of this.

I agree, I have been leveling alts there as well. I never really liked tank classes, but seeing a full preview of one has got me leveling it. Only thing is I wish each boss would drop a silver chest or something, a chance of an upgrade would be nice. I'm glad they added it to the final boss though.

Me too! I hope that they make more content like it with things like puzzles, FOE, floor hazards, and letting players set traps and stuff.

Yep! It's a great place to try out new classes that I wouldn't have tried otherwise (mainly DPSers, since I don't like long queue waits), and it's "come as you are" style matching means we don't have to sit forever and a day for a tank/healer to show up. And as unpopular as it might sound, I also enjoy it because there's no complex puzzles/mechanics in there (except the floor 50 boss. Gonna have to talk about positioning on that one. Aside from that, want complex puzzles? Take up crafting ). It means none of us have to stop and explain to the newbies that you have to do this and this and this and this and this and this and this and this, otherwise we wipe. You can just say "Avoid red symbols on the ground. Stay away from people about to open chests. The rest you'll figure out as you go." and off you go.

I am enjoying myself so far and got the white mage staff after..two completions? I did one as white mage, one as summoner and I am on floor 41 as my AST, but got my 30/30 last night.

I will admit, there's always room for improvement, but what I've seen I kinda like. The traps, are a fun start. unless you have the normal set up, I've had "Uh oh" moments when we get a few links in a room, then a roaming one comes in..then a trap sets up with even more...the you start seeing Chirp being casted! Thankful we had witching...and I got to LB them!

The items, are fun to use and I notice they range in how useful they are depending on the group. Take for example higher levels without a tank and no healer, the rage item will make a floor a lot..a lot easier.

The Pacification and long silences, I'm used to short durations but in a pinch or in the right party make up it can lead to a bad time.

For me, going through all the old rotations was good and made me appreciate my higher level spells and abilities such as my trance as SMN or my instant heal I now see I use more often than not on my white mage. My only concern are the actual players, the ones who have been grinding so much or trying to obtain every single weapon they dislike being there and get cranky, or just sit at the portal waiting..

yeah, i like the dungeon too, but the "random" maps are a bit boring and way too small.

there are also no loops or anything, just dead-end rooms.

I'd like to maybe see some vertical rooms and wide open rooms for a little more visual variety, but those would probably be weird to implement with the way the map is. Challenge style floors or floors with bonus conditions would be neat too. Maybe more "puzzle" style enemies that make use of crowd control skills that don't get used very often. As annoying as the Chirp enemies can be I think they are probably the most effective as an actual obstacle and require you to save stuns which is the kind of stuff I'd like to see more of.

Myself and everyone I've run it with are really liking the content so far though. And it's super nice for anyone that is catching up in levels since they can potentially have a endgame-ready weapon right when they hit 60.
