What do you like and dislike most in FFXIV?

Likes:

1. The game is beautiful. I love all the details it has.
2. Classes. I love classe aesthetics, the fact that each one of them has a story behind it.
3. Story! The story in this game is really well-done and I love how we have bits of lore and new information even at side-quests. Also Ser Aymeric.
4. The music.
5. I was so tired of over-sexualized korean mmos. It's refreshing to put a well-done robe. I really like the armour design.
6. The housing system is amazing even with it's faults. The idea of a ward and a neighborhood is really fun.
7. Lalafells.
8. Everything in one char.
9. The dev team seems very comunicative.

Dislikes:

1. The content is not smart. I'm not even talking about being hard, but I don't really have to think before doing anything that isn't a ex primal or savage.
2. The dungeon design is not creative.
3. The open world is dead. You either find people at their homes or at limsa lominsa aetheryte.
4. The maps aren't dangerous. When I was going to Sohm Al I though that I would have to be carefull and have some strategy but no, I didn't.
5. The community, while is not as bad as other MMOs, seems hard to accept critics and have healthy discussions.
6. The inventory problem hurts.
7. Exclusive items on mogstation.

Dislike:
- Alexander raid (Coil >>>>> Alexander)
- NO BUNNY EARS FOR MALES!!! (Where the hell the announcement of shared gear until now??)
- Male Au Ra's body and running
- Healer at frontline can't cleric stance

Likes
- It's a beautiful looking game that my non-gaming PC can handle.
- It's story driven. I have a hard time getting into MMOs with very loosely tacked on stories
- The main story is good. Definitely got better with HW.
- Some of the sidequests are just as good as the main story (Hildibrand, Ishgardian Scholars, HW's beast tribe)
- They seem to be focusing on Mechanics instead of stats and damage-pushing for the end-game fights, currently, which I like (please continue this, SE)
- The battle system is easy for people to pick up

Dislikes
- Devs seem to focus on only the JP server's suggestions and complaints
- Power Creep and no longevity with older gear and content, to the point things can become obsolete as soon as the next patch
- Relies heavily on repetitive grinds for longevity
- Makes content that is good in theory but they don't push the idea enough (Diadem, Aquapolis, Palace)
- Devs seem to be scared to experiment with things that deviate from the WoW-model
- The freakin' Allagan. They're everywhere. I'm tired of collecting their smut tomes and giving them to Rowena's tacky booty. >:v
- Patches can feel a bit lackluster at times, especially if that patch's big ticket item falls flat.
- Seasonal and Special events are either too short or horrible grind-fests. SE needs to find a balance between longevity, ease, and fun.
- The character creation is a bit lackluster for a AAA P2P game

I like the world and dislike the crueler MMO grinding sessions, the fact that all aesthetic gear are not storable in the armoire, and the skill clutter that we have. I am not using more than 28-30 attacks and buffs (not including replicated actions on any of the crossbar setups that I use.

Like: Level sync. I can actually matter in group content, since no one person grossly outgears the other (unlike WoW).

Dislike: Senseless city planning, specifically guild setup. You'd think that if you have, for example, a blacksmithing/armorer guild in one place, it'd only stand to reason that the miner's guild would be in that same place too, and having a lancer's guild - that uses big spears and wears plate armor - would be located where these facilities exist, and not where they wouldn't. I get that they're (presumably) trying to entice people into exploring their entire world, but I could've thought of better ways to do that, and while still being sensible about it.
