For a change like this to see significant appreciation, it'd probably need to be paired with something that players would want to view in first person or just naturally has a sense of exploration or aesthetic appreciation, e.g. a new expansion's zones, and it'd honestly take a ton of work for it to be an appreciable PoV due to the number of effects that completely obscure one's vision, rather than augment one's view or the gameplay aesthetics, from the first person viewpoint.
