Resume /Pause Download of Patchs

Good afternoon!

I would like to make an appeal , I suffer with drastic falls from my internet provider, it is unfortunately the only one in my town .
I had to re- install the game and as you know the patches are too " heavy " for those who are downloading to 0.33 MB / s.

Please make the system possible to resume and pause the download of patches, will help many people like me who suffer from this problem.

In my experience, it sort of already does. It seems to download in segments so it has "checkpoints". If the download is stopped or interrupted, when you resume the download it will start with the last checkpoint, but on the progress bar it will appear to have started over at the beginning.

Someone correct me if I'm wrong, but this seemed to be the case for me when I re-installed the game.

If this were true I wouldn't have a problem installing my patch. 5 days and a no go. Ref error code: 20512 25008 20495

When I installed the newest patch on my laptop it failed 3 times before going through...
each time the download was less; I checked. So there is already somewhat of a check/fail system in place, but I'm guessing it's at "checkpoints" like Darkstride suggested.

*it failed because of crappy internet connection. I don't remember the error code but I do remember it just saying "Patch failed" or something like that; there may not have even been an error code.

looking at the files the FFXIV patcher creates when downloading patches I beileve that the FFXIV patcher is a Bit Torrent client.
so is not a matter of checkpoint but chunks.

The way that Bit Torrent works is it requests a chunk from a source and if it donesn't complete a chunk it will request it

It can download in segments, but they're actually often large single files and a few smaller ones so you're probably failing on the bigger ones forcing them to restart each time.

It was in 1.0, but since 2.0 it's changed to directly download from SE.

I believe it still is a Bit Torrent client even if the full seed are SE's servers themselves (actualy quite a good idea)

if you want to pause your download : log off using win 7 or sign out if you are using win 10
don't cancle or press X to close the launcher just do like i said
will continue right were it left , without the need to download the required chunk of data
